Introduced in 1962 and sold until 1980, the MGB was a compact 4cyl sports car that was produced by British Leyland. The MGB GT's innovative hatchback design by Pininfarina gave the MGB a fresh look and filled a need for enclosed sports car. The GT's design and performance have made them a favorite among English and grand touring car enthusiasts alike and for these reasons, The MGB/GT will always remain popular and an excellent entry level automotive investment. The long... line of MG's is impressive with the variations and life cycle over the years. The very cool thing about this car is that in 1970, it was the only year that MG offered the GT with the rear split chrome bumper - couple that with the factory overdrive and you are looking at a very rare MGB GT. Finished in a bright and cheery shade of Snapdragon Yellow, this MGB GT is in very solid shape. Overall the body is very straight with no major imperfections or rot. The paint is very solid with just a few spots of interest. The rare chrome bumpers are in great condition and have great shine. The rest of the chrome trim is in good original shape but could use a good polish. The knock-off wire wheels are very nice and have brand new tires mounted. All the rubber and plastic trim, and glass is in excellent shape. Coming to us from Tennessee, this little MGB GT has been well cared for and has escaped the clutches of the rust belt. The black interior is in very nice condition, with solid vinyl seats, and crack free dashboard. Very original, this car also has the factory radio, as well as a nice cue ball shifter, MG floor mats, and factory steering wheel. The original 1.8L 4cyl British Leyland engine is a relatively smooth runner and the 4-speed manual transmission is easy to use. Offering nearly the same performance as the roadster, such as the 105mph top speed, the GT also offered some much needed increase in cargo room. While it has a rear bench seat, good luck fitting anyone in the rear! While MG B roadsters have been holding steady value for the last few years, the prices of the GT have been increasing as more and more flock to the models benefits over the standard cars. Now is your chance to act!
