You are bidding on a beautiful classic RARE "SUPERCHARGED" 1948 MGTC ROADSTER... This 1948 MG TC is finished in off-white over red and powered by a supercharged 1,250cc inline-four mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The current owner purchased the car 29 years ago in a state of disassembly, and proceeded with a frame-up refurbishment including new paint, driveline rebuilds, and more. Under 2k miles have reportedly been driven since completion of the project in the mid-1990s. This TC is offered by the seller on behalf of its owner in Montreal with a spare transmission, refurbishment receipts and photos, supercharger blueprints, a fabric soft top, and clean Quebec registration in the owner's name. The car was painted its current off-white at the time of the 1990s refurbishment, in-process photos of which can be seen in the gallery below. Occasional nicks and other blemishes have been acquired since completion of the work. The car will be transferred with a new set of side curtains. The TC wasoriginally equipped with19″ Dunlop knock-off wire wheels, here mounted with period-style Goodyear rubber. Hydraulically-operated drum brakes are featured at all four corners and said to have been overhauled during the refurbishment.Photos of the tan soft top in its raised position are provided in the gallery. A 4-spoke banjo steering wheel has been installed in place of the original, and the seats are covered in red leather. The wood dash panel houses Jaeger instruments that were reportedly sent to the UK for service and calibration. Approximately 2k miles are shown on the odometer. The 1,250cc XPAG four has been fitted with a Marshall J75 Roots-type supercharger, which is belt driven and fed by a single SU carburetor. The engine and transmission were reportedly rebuilt during the older refurbishment, and the latter is paired with an overdrive unit. The seller indicates that the engine was last serviced a year ago would likely benefit from a tune-up.
