GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1953 MG TD for your consideration. The car is powered by a 1.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The 1,250cc inline-four received a cylinder head overhaul with new valves, springs, guides, and other components, while other work included rebuilds of the dual SU carburetors. The cylinder head gasket, generator, oil pan drain plug, brass core plugs, and coolant hoses have also been replaced under current ownership. The engine bay has... reportedly been detailed, and exposed wiring has been wrapped with gaffer tape. A spin-on oil filter conversion kit and new hi/lo horns are included but have not been installed. The green exterior was repainted under previous ownership and features a chrome grille shell, AMCO wind wings, and a period-style luggage rack. The bumpers, over-riders, and badge bars have been replaced, and the removed versions are included in the sale. Fog lamps have been installed but are not connected. Silver 15″ disc wheels wear replacement medallion hubcaps and Vredestein Sprint Classic tires installed in September 2017. A tear is noted in a window seam of the tan canvas soft top, which is shown raised in the gallery below. The car also comes with a set of side curtains that have gone unused with a tonneau cover that shows some staining. The interior is trimmed in tan vinyl with matching carpets and black replacement floor mats bearing the MG logo. Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and centrally-located gauges for water temperature and amperage. This is a beautiful classic MG that is ready for its next owner.
