MG produced Bs from 1962 all the way until 1980. This is one of the last of the MGB series and is arguably one of the better driving cars with its overdrive transmission and well developed suspension. These lightweight cars are popular with driving enthusiasts and even make great race cars. This particular example is finished in a bright red which looks great on the car offset by the tan leather interior. The interior is very clean and features tan leather seats and vinyl upholstery elsewhere and a simple dashboard with easy to read gauges. The stereo is a modern CD player with bluetooth and USB player interfaces. The convertible top and windows are operated the old-fashioned way which is all part of the fun of a car like this. Under the hood you'll find a simple and reliable 4-cylinder engine. This one has an upgraded fuel system with a more reliable and drivable Weber down flow carburetor. The engine compartment presents well and retains a fairly factory appearance. This is a 3 owner car with known history since its delivery to its first owner in Salt Lake City Utah in 1980. Vintage Exotics of Tucson is proud to offer this beautiful 1979 MG B. We restored this car 8 years ago and it was recently sold back to us by its owner in trade for another vehicle. This restoration included replacement of front fenders and hood, all new interior including leather seats, new top, new chrome, rebuilt gearbox, upgraded fuel systems, new exhaust, and a bare metal respray by Hi Speed Automotive. The car has been well cared for and rates at a Condition 2-3. It would make a great collector for weekend drives and shows or for more regular driving. The transmission includes an overdrive that still operates as new. This is a very nice driver that shows well and is mechanically sorted. Whether you plan on blasting the backroads, hopping on the track for a vintage racing experience, or simple cruising around town, the MG B is a wonderful car to handle the task.
