Description of 1958 MG MGA |
PROJECT CAR runs and drives, needs completion : 1958 MGA coupe 3.4L I just have too many cars and projects; I am just putting this out there in case anyone wants to take over this project. Fresh engine, I have not even finished breaking in the cam yet, rebuilt WC 5 speed, I sent the Camaro bellhousing to Lakewood and they corrected 17 degrees the tranny sits straight now. This 3.4 and 5 spd were born together so it's all off the shelf 95 Camaro stuff end to end, Willwood racing pedals, new front MGA disc brakes, new rear brakes, MGB rear differential, air conditioning kit, Mustang radiator, all new modern wiring kit, wheels and tires are new, the interior is about half done with new seats, dash, door panels, carpet kit and a few other parts, sound deadening kit, battery under the tray with track jump/charging lugs, removable cross member, bear claw latches, original white uncut hood and aluminum cut hood, MGA spares and 3.4 spares, 272 cam, roller tips, custom drive shaft, etc, etc... all the good stuff. This car needs minor assembly and will provide years of fun with the A/C blasting, local pickup or I will drive it onto the transporter you send to pick it up. Great little 62 year old European sports car, I just have too many cars and projects. Car is for sale locally and auction may end without notice. Please email any questions and thanks for looking. Work continues day by day. Clear title, tagged and insured On Jun-14-20 at 09:27:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked about the body. There are bumps and bruises on this car, the worst part is the driver door appears to have been hyper extended (opened too far). This car was also rumored to have been a race car at one time. The floor pans have been replaced to metal for stiffness, the brake line is -3 and inside a sheath. The fuel line is also inside a metal sheath under the car. I have a few cars laying around here and take it from me, million dollar paint jobs ruin all the fun. Instead, take that money and buy leather seats and a souped up A/C system and have fun in the car. I think the car really should be silver w blue tint w the ox blood but it was white when I got it. If you want to blow this car apart and paint it's really got good bones. Definitely not bad for 62 yrs old... As you know, aluminum doors, trunk lid and hood from the factory. If you looking for a prom queen this is not the car for you. If you are looking for a fun date, then this is the car for you. This car was conceived and built to run the crap out of w the A/C blasting, beat up on all the other little britsh cars and have fun with. It's a "cobra Light"... If this is not what you want then no harm and no foul, but that's what it is. Thanks... On Jun-16-20 at 14:56:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked about the side pipes and if they are loud. The side pipes are not operational, the exhaust is just a temporary under the car, welded up two into one with a giant muffler so the engine could be listened to during initial fire up and cam break in.It will need exhaust done to your liking, I built the exhaust out of the stuff I had here in the shop so it's a little mismatched. I'm no welder but it doesn't leak and it's quiet. You can run the side pipes if you want, or remove them. This car needs a weeks work, peel the stickers off it, buff it and go. Thanks... On Jun-17-20 at 08:08:32 PDT, seller added the following information: We added photo's with the interior parts just so you can kinda' see what the car will end up being. It's only in there finger tight just so you can see the parts. It will need to come out again so you can review everything yourself and make friends with the car. I have all the glass and regulators, gasket kits, cam card, you know the drill, misc parts and spares... Thanks... |
