ONE FUN RIDE

1983 LONDON ROADSTER

MG TD REPLICA CAR

MADE BY LONDON MOTORS CORPORATION

31,747 Original Miles

The London Roadster was conceived in Dearborn, Michigan, where it was manufactured. The Roadster was designed to fill a desire held by countless Americans for time on end. An American built open air sports car of distinction. London Roadsters were built on custom frames.
a rear engine VW, and sitting on a square steel tube stock chassis, it's a very nice looking example of the '53TD. All fiberglass body, nice paint, and of course no rust to deal with, and a reliable VW 1600cc engine to push you along on your tool through the windy roads ahead.

Exterior
A view from the side shows the sexy curved lines produced by the cowled hood front, rear hinged low profile doors, and beautifully designed rear. On this body are the fender and running board attachments which start up front just above the shiny bumper, and curve lazily upward barely touching the chromed headlights that flank the front chromed radiator surround and grille.
Interior
Those short doors swing rearward on their back hinges and reveal brown vinyl crafted with stitched panels and large pouch and screw fastened to the interior of the doors. A brown tuck and roll bench in shiny vinyl stretches from door to door and is fronted by an eyebrow curved wood dash. Here, instruments pepper the wood and offer up important running data from the engine, as well as speed. A dash mounted mirror is in the middle of the eyebrows, and a wood 3 spoked drilled chrome and wood surrounded steering wheel presents itself to the driver on the left hand side. Under the faux cowled hood is more brown carpeted storage space.
Drivetrain
Power comes from the rear in the form of a 1600cc85hp Custom Built VW engine, which is looking nice and clean and well maintained. It is fed by a 1-barrel Solex carburetor and has a 4-speedSynchromesh manual transmission on the back. Ferrari badged chromed tips cover4 exhaust outlets, which are stationed just below the rear bumper.
Undercarriage
Very simply put, simple! Framework is square stock steel tubing and plenty of rust-free steel panels to cover the entire bottom of this car. Up front Mustang II suspension (rack and pinion) is installed, and on back independent coil springs are providing the ride. Disc brakes for the front, and drums for the rear...STOP!
Drive-Ability
Even the throaty exhaust makes you feel like you are behind the wheel of an original, and it drives beautifully. Handles great, has decent acceleration, and shifts smoothly, it has plenty of room behind the wheel for a “normal” sized driver.

Car sold new on November 11, 1983 to Joe Sepuleda at Wilson County motors
