Description of 1974 MG MGB |
This is a mostly complete project car. It is a solid starting point, with many new parts. The body is solid, but the paint is a 4 out of 10. It has some fading, minor chips on the cowl and hood, and some peel. It had some rust repair by welding in new metal on the passenger floor and areas behind the wheels. It has a late 90's Camaro V6 and 5 speed installed with a swap kit from MG Classic Conversions. The mileage for the car is approx 70K, but I cannot be sure since the original gauge was broken. The donor engine and trans have approx 90K miles and it ran great before the swap. It has the manual pages for the swap kit, main wiring, and Old Air AC unit. I just got the exhaust and tires installed, and only test driven it in the driveway. I've only run it for a few minutes while moving in the driveway(exhaust is still burning off the header heat wrap oil). I have driven it in the driveway(low speeds) and can be driven on a trailer for delivery. I would NOT try to drive it home, it needs to be completed and tested. It has a leak at the rear main, possible from sitting but needs a repair. The paint is OK from 10 feet but it could use a respray. The interior needs to have the rear seat, door and trim panels recovered and have a few pieces of carpet installed(included). The fuel gauge doesn't read correctly, it needs a different sender(included). New parts include:Front and rear springsRack and pinionTie rodsFront brake rotors and padsFuel tank with electric fuel pumpExhaust systemWheels and tiresCarpet kitDolphin gauge setCustom driveshaftRadiator and surge tankAC condenser and dryerHood and hatch gas shocks It comes with several items to finish the car:Chrome trim for the windshield rubberChrome trim for thehatch rubberChrome side trim and install hardwareWiper arms and new bladesDoor lock kit |
