1978/98 Spec 1275 MPI SPORTPACK CLASSIC MINI This Classic Mini has been an absolute joy to own over the past 5 years, ut with an expanding family this fantastic Mini needs to find a loving new home. It is very clean inside and out, nd runs great. Recently serviced, eplaced fluids, lutch slave cylinder, alve cover gasket, ubber seals, ndbraided clutch hose. It has the 1275 MPI engine with factory2.76:1 final drive ratio which drops highway cruising at 70mph to 3300rpms (Previous Mini's cruised at 3900rpms at 70mph roughly). Factory 8.4" brakes with Brake Booster, s well as 13x6 Sportpack wheels. This Mini is all original, xcluding the "Wavy Grille" which could certainly be swapped out easily.Mileage is in KM (70,000KM/43,500 Miles), believe the car to be German Spec.The car does have very very minor blemishes that are pictured below. A lot of Classic Mini's try to copy the look of the Sportpack Mini, his is not a copy, ut the real deal! So what makes a SportPack Different than other Classic Mini's? Engine & Mechanics-1275 multi-point fuel injection-Modern Wiring & Fuses - no cheap in-line fuses to fall apart.-Oil Filter moved up and to the front of the engine eliminating oil pipes and reducing leaks!-Quad dry-coil twin-spark technology. Distributor deleted in favour of the modern distributor less electronic management.-Front mounted radiator with electric fan only - quieter, ore efficient, an doesn't need to run when you're on the move.-65 amp alternator with modern poly-vee belt alternator/water pump drive for greater durability and reliability.-Much improved torque curve has enabled the introduction of a higher final-drive ratio for more relaxed cruising at motorway speeds.-For lower internal noise levels, 2.76:1 final drive ratio raises the overall gearing by 16% compared to the previous Mini Cooper. With fourth gear now equivalent to fifth gear on many other cars and a third gear high enough to virtually achieve the 90mph maximum speed, he driving characteristics are very different. The 'overdrive' fourth gear cuts engine speed at 70mph from 3,888 rpm to 3,333 rpm for more comfortable cruising, hile third gear now provides the upper range acceleration and overtaking capability.-Rear exhaust silencer box which together with the other modifications to the engine make it TWICE as quiet at 70mph!
