1983 Classic Mini British Racing 1983 Classic Mini British Racing Green Automatic Transmission | This little mini has traveled the world. Built in the UK and shipped to Japan where she spent most of her life. Then shipped back to the UK for a short stay and then to the U.S. I have had her for about four years now. I've imported mini's for my own pleasure from both the UK and Japan and have found that the Japanese mini tend not to have the rust issues associated with the UK mini. I've just got to many cars in my stable at the moment so am selling one of the best. When I bought this mini I wondered "why an automatic" but after getting her she turned out to be my favorite. Driving a RHD, Right Hand Drive, vehicle is of no concern. You easily adapt. Just ask any postal carrier. She has a strong 998cc engine with a newly rebuilt HS4 1 1/2" SU carb. Items replaced within the last year include: water pump, thermostat, radiator, radiator hoses, fan and fan belt, water sending unit, alternator, fuel pump, shocks all around, tie rods, steering rack, new carbon fiber dash and gauges, (all gauges are not new) subframe mounts, front and rear trumpets with HiLo adjustable suspension. K&N Air Filter, Pertronix Ignitor II distributor, flame thrower II coil, front brake pads, new wing mirrors, stainless steel interior rear view mirror, spark plugs and plug wires, Paddy Hopkirk floor mats and more. The British Racing Green is her original color and does show her age with scratches and such. True mileage is unknown as speedometer is not original. No dents or dings, though you can see where the original outside rear view mirrors were mounted on the doors. The flaws show in one of the pictures. She has two rear speakers and the wires for front speakers are connected to the radio and easy to get too. The roof was professionally repainted late last year. Fuel tank was removed, cleaned, and repainted. The interior is perfect. No rips, tears, burns in the seats or headliner. Their is a crack in the dash on the far left side.(see picture) Smoke-free environment. She received four new tires late last year just before the steering rack and tie rods were replaced. The problem is is that I waited to long to have the front end aligned and the front tires now show signs of uneven wear. (see picture) Heater works great. Her name is Monica and she can be driven anywhere with confidence. For the initial start of the day, pull out the choke, turn key and she instantly roars to life. (You can push the choke in now.) I live about 85 miles NW of Seattle and have made numerous trips with her to Portland. She cruises at 70 MPH along the freeway without a care in the world. Literally everything on her works with the exception of the interior dome light. It does not come on/off when the doors are open/closed. It will work though if you flip the switch on the dome light. The JVC radio, model KW-HDR720 has many features, to include CD, iPod, iPhone, USB slot, HD, remote and more. Monica has always had frequent oil and filter changes. Clear WA state title in my name. Cashiers check or wire transfer within 48 hours of close of auction. Buyer is responsible for shipping though I will be available as a contact and assist with loading. I've tried to point out the flaws and be as honest as I can. Monica is a very nice car. I drive her more often than the others. She is as close to a daily driver that I have. I'll be listing other vehicles in the future. 1990 mini automatic with A/C, 1989 Mini 4 speed with A/C, 1990 Nissan Pao. You may want to check Wikepedia for info on the Nissan Pao.
