Description of 1964 Mini Classic Mini |
Do you have a project for the winter? Do you like the British motor history? Does driving on the right side of a vehicle get you intrigued? Do you like the challenge of welding sheet metal? 1964 Morris Mini Traveller Flat roof tin sided version MK1 with external hinges 998cc with “Magic Wand” shifter Floor start button Started life as Tartan Red 10” wheels with full drum brake Barn door style rear doors I bought the little Mini in 2005. The family enjoyed it for about a year. but when the starter went out. I started my plan of rebuilding. It was going well till I started the body. I am not a thin sheet metal welder. The Mini has been sitting in pieces (garage and basement) since 2008. Time to let her go to someone that will finish and enjoy this quirky little piece of the British car industry. With the kids getting to the point of wanting their own cars. I have to refocus my car passion. During disassembly. I bagged and labeled all the parts that came off the Mini. I have also acquired many new parts to replace seals. gaskets. gears. panels. wiring looms. etc. I have also extra old parts as doubles and optional replacements for damaged parts. I have a full spreadsheet of the parts purchased. I also have a CD with all the pictures during disassembly. You will need a truck and trailer or larger U-haul van to pick up this Mini. There are a lot of plastic totes with parts and the body is currently on a rotisserie that will go with the Mini.
