Description of 1992 Mini Classic Mini Cooper |
-RARE Cooper version Mini Cooper- VIN: SAXXNNAMBBD021033 It's pretty rare to see a Right Hand Drive Classic Mini on the streets but its even rarer to see the Cooper version. A lot of Minis listed are the Austin Rovers or the basic Mini versions like the Mayfair or other 998cc variants. The 6th digit of the vin being "N" is the indication of such. The 8th digit of "M" indicating that its a 1300cc Carb version. This is one of the very last Mini's ever made as a carb as they were discontinued during 1992 production year. This will be my 4th car I have imported from Japan in the past 2 years (my second mini) and have experience regarding the legality and process of importing them. To make it as easy as possible for the buyer I have already gone through the expense and time in obtaining a US title and US registration. This vehicle is now to be considered fully documented legal and to be considered as any other US vehicle now. I will supply not only the title and registration but also all of the original documentation that came with the vehicle from overseas. I want to make this as comfortable and worry free for the buyer as possible. The highlights of this car are that it has just 59,000 documented miles. It is 99% rust free. I show a pic of the aftermarket fender mirror rust. The roof rails, undercarriage, trunk and all the common places for rust to form are free from it - which is remarkable for a Mini. The vehicle mechanically is EXCEPTIONAL. I drove this vehicle from the port of Baltimore up to northern PA (3 hours) with zero issues on the highway and comfortable pushing 75 mph and 4k rpm. I had the vehicle looked over in Japan and spent $600 to make it mechanically perfect. The brakes, cluth, engine all run flawless. The carbureted engine even starts up with just a few attempts in this Pennsylvania 30-40 degree weather. The cooper has Recaro racing seats, supposedly $400 set of blue tint headlights, a aftermarket dual carb, Advan rubber and aftermarket rims, and aftermarket exhaust. The modifications could be a good or bad thing but if the future owner of this vehicle wishes for it to be close to original then it could be done for about $1-2,000. This is a opportunity to own a rust free, worry free, legal, rhd, manual, cooper variant classic mini just in time for Christmas. The, what I would deem, insignificant flaws are that it has some older fender mirrors that should be replaced. The seats have a couple patch jobs. The back trunk area has the clear coat starting to fade (seen in pic and could be fixed for $200-300). I could have spent $400-500 more to avoid having to mention these issues but I do not wish to spend any more money and now simply want to move on. I have a pretty low buy it now, so don't let someone else snatch it up before you :) I am selling locally and have the right to end auction at any time. If the vehicle is listed then it is available. Paypal deposit within 24 hours. Shipping from East Coast to Midwest could be about $4-600 and to the west coast about $700-900. I could help buyer find a shipper if needed. Buyer is to pay for vehicle first. When funds are cleared then vehicle pick up is arrange and documents will be sent via FEDEX on same day of vehicle shipping. No warranties or guarantees and this vehicle is sold as-is. Please trust in my feedback and past experience. |
