Description of 1972 Mini Classic Mini

This listing is for a '1972' titled Austin Mini Cooper, it is in an excellent condition. Blue exterior with a silver top and silver racing stripes. Immaculate interior in gray and black. The previous owner indicated that this car was in a private collection and that I was the third owner. The car runs and drives extremely well, and would be a great addition to any collection or owner. This left hand drive Mini has MPI (multi point fuel injection) and has a radiator in the front for those that want to do their research on the car’s specification and pedigree. It also came standard with the Sportspack kit which includes the fender flares, 13” wheels and suspension bits. When I bought this I was interested in buying the best possible condition classic Mini I could find. Since then, I have yet to see one this nice. It is my opinion that this car has never been restored and based on seeing the condition of all components the mileage appears to be correct at 15,996mi. I see no indication of any repainting or overspray. When I purchased this car it had what I believe to be the original tires but they were replaced simply due to age. The brakes were also replaced at the time (rotors, pads, rear shoes and new Al-Fin alloy brake drums). The condition of the parts removed would also support the indicated mileage and I still have the original parts because they seemed to have very little wear. A recommended maintenance item on classic Minis are the rubber suspension ‘donuts’. They eventually sag and get hard resulting in a rough ride. They were replaced on this car using the correct Rover parts, not aftermarket. Adjustable “Hi-Lo” brand ride height components were installed to get the ride height correct after the suspension replacement. The original Koni shocks were replaced at the same time with AGX adjustable replacements and I kept those as well. The radio was replaced by the previous owner but the original Blaupunkt is in the replacements box. A new battery was installed in July of this year. All parts used during my ownership were sourced directly from Mini Spares who were great to deal with and shipping from the UK is easier than you think. The current mileage may go up as I still drive it on occasion. It has been in my possession for eight years and it is now time to move on. Included with the auction will be various receipts, a couple of oil/air filters and a number of manuals that have been accumulated. The car has a clear Pennsylvania title in my name. I know I will regret selling it but just do not drive it enough anymore.
