Description of 1980 Mini Classic Mini

This 1982 Austin Mini has been restored suspension up. Metal has been replaced or repaired where rust was present and the exterior(aside the roof panel) & door jams repainted in granite crystal metallic paint. The suspension was upgraded with new rubber cones, adjustable gas shocks, struts and all adjustable suspension so it can run any wheel size and width that fits in the arches, currently suspension is set high for ground clearance but can be dropped down to tire rubbing low if you want just by adjusting the strut nuts. Rear subframe was replaced, engine bushings, carb rebuilt & rejetted, new exhaust fitted, rear brakes, fuel/rad hoses, a bunch of other miscellaneous things. Starts and runs excellent, currently leaks a bit of oil(suspected to be from a bad timing chain gasket) but kept topped up it is in great drive-able condition and is currently registered and insured in Alberta. 998cc engine. Comes with a load of spare parts. It's RHD and was imported into Alberta from England in 2002 by a previous owner. Love the car, but I have to many projects on the go and have to let go of somethings. $10,000obo

Rust and other body work: Passenger Side A panel was replaced due to a developing rust hole. Inside rear trunk showing rust on driver side corner. Driver side truck and rear quarter had a developing rust spot on either side of the seam bad metal was cut out and a fiberglass resin patch was made the paint shop kinda buggered it afterwards and sanded it down to far and never spot puttied the air bubbles they uncovered but the area its largely covered by the rear bumper and hard to notice. Surface rust in driver foot well. Rear subframe was replaced and treated and painted with por15 before being reinstalled as were the rear suspension arms. Two small dents on driver side fender and rear quarter. Small paint chip on roof and missing rain gutter seam covers.

The restoration was largely aimed at body work and suspension, engine was in good running condition when I acquired it and I didn't do a full rebuild of the engine due to losing interest and funding for the project. Still has original drum breaks, pads were replaced on rear but not front as I had intended to do a disc swap but never did.

Note: Some photos are before the exterior bodywork/paint. Will provide new photos as requested.
