1976 New Zeland export British Leyland Mini Cooper. The original 998cc A-series power plant was ditched years ago for a modified Honda D16A6 pushing a dyno proven 160+whp and just shy of 130lbft of torque. Engine modifications include a rocket 5 cam, Hondada s300 programmable ECU, and OBX individual throttle bodies. The swap, as well as the fabrication of the custom tube frame and modification of all other necessary engine components, was performed by McGee's custom Minis of Annapolis Maryland. Recent work performed has been to improve the reliability, usability, and drivability of what was already a great build. The original hood was replaced because of rust damage, but will be included with the sale. The carbon "moustache" and black mk1 style grille will also be included. Paint and body are both in very good condition for a car of this age, but it should be noted that the exterior is largely unrestored, and still wears most of its original "Bold as Brass" paint. Unlike many Honda swapped classic Minis, this car still has its rubber cone style suspension and stock front control arms, helping to retain the feel and driving characteristics that Minis are renowned for. Adjustable shock absorbers, adjustable lower control arms, rear camber plates, and special widened versions of its original 10" wheels further improve handling, as well as looks. Actual vehicle milage is unknown, and milage since the engine swap was performed is estimated to be around 6000.
