Description of 1968 Mini Classic Mini |
Own this unique rare original piece of history! 1968 Mini Innocenti MK2, full restoration, one year process 2007-2008. Since then was driven basically on Sundays only some 35,000Km (20,000 miles approx in 12 years).Sliding windows, very rare, all original.I bought this car in 2005 in Italy, near lake of Como, from an older lady who lost her license and could no longer drive it.She used to drive it around Lake of Como area, from home to groceries and back. She was the second owner, First owner was from Switzerland years before.I owned the car since 2005 in Italy, with the intent to fully restore it to its original image as a gift to my wife.I started restoration in 2007 and finished it in mid 2008.The whole restoration took place in Italy (while i lived there) performed by classic professionals, experts on this car.The car has been disassembled completely and built up restoring every single part starting from the bare metal, see PICTURES, those at the end are all from the restoration.Restoration included overhaul of basically every component, and brought back to original including the remanufacture of the Odometer (and reset it to ZERO).I brought it to US (where i live now) in 2018, registered as antique and enjoyed it for fun relaxing Sunday's drives. Car drives wonderfully and it is a HEAD TURNER!It is the model i always wanted, the sliding window model.I decided to sell it, although my wife really did not want to....to a new good home so i can make room for our next project! Countless time and parts ($) spent on this beauty during the restoration. The selling price does not even closely cover for just the time spent on it during the restoration. I hope this car finds a new good home and some love she deserves! NOTE: These cars did not have 17 digit VIN numbers, so what you see listed is what they had at that time.NOTE2: Pick up preferred but i could assist helping logistic of shipping if it is arranged by buyer. |
