I am selling a 1991 3000gt vr4. This is the twin turbo, all wheel drive version with a 5 speed manual gearbox and all wheel steering. The car is overall in great shape for its age. There is no rust on it and it still looks great. Interior is really clean and well maintained. The car does have typical wear and tear for its age. The clear is bubbling on the right fender and peeling on the rear hatch and wing. There are some dents and scratches around the car. It is a 91 with 124k miles on it so the damage is typical for its age and mileage. Please refer to pictures to get a better idea of the condition that its in. The car used to be owned by one of the firstmembersof the 3si community. There is a member 338 sticker on the rear window. It used to be a daily driver up until recently. The original engine spun a rod bearing so the previous owner bought a lower mileage 4 bolt block out of a newer vr4. The newer block has a forgedcrankshaftand is more reliable as well as able to hold much more power. It appears that at the same time, the timing belt, water pumpservice was donebecausethey look new. Unfortunately the mechanic did not follow the right head installationprocedureand thehead gasketstarted leaking soon after the engine block was installed. I replaced thehead gaskets, the fuel filter, and one coil on the car. It now starts right up and drives great.Enginedoes not knock and has perfect compression all around (buyer can feel free to do a compression test upon pickup). Thetransmissionis smooth and the clutch feels great. The car drives straight and has no noises ( other than the brake noise from not being driven). The brakes still have plenty of pads left and the tires have plenty of thread. Front active aero is missing and there is a crack on the windshield. The turbos have no shaft play and spool up as they should. They build boost quickly and hold it steady. There is no more coolant leaks and thetemperaturestays steady. The previous owner claimed that the rod bearings were replaced with fresh ones in the new block and the oil pump is new.The only modifications to this car are; k&n air filter, manual boost controller ( set at 10 psi), y pipe, bigger radiator, aftermarket radio and a boostgauge. I suspect the misfire is caused by the ngk spark plug wires. My other vr4 started misfiring once I bought the sames wires for it and then stopped when I bought msd wires. I dont have time to work on this car anymore. The misfire is only under full boost and will not affect every day driving. The interior is in great shape compared to other vr4s. There is no rust on the car. It is in great shape and its a perfect candidate to either keep as a classic car, daily drive, or even build to be a race car. Feel free to text or call 708 691 4975 with any questions and good luck bidding.
