Description of 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse

About this vehicleUp for sale is a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse project car, in rough shape.
The body is pretty trashed and has many different layers of surface rust, body filler, paint, primer and what appears to be Plasti Dip? Plenty of over spray on everything, including the lights. The windshield is cracked and water leaks in through the rear hatch where a spoiler was once attached. The front tires only have about 100 miles on them, but they're around five years old now. One of the front wheels is an oddball and rubs slightly.

The interior isn't much better:
Some of the dashboard trim has been painted. Unpainted replacements parts are included. What remains of the headliner is just some deteriorated foam. A replacement headliner is included, but the backer board has cracked from sitting in the Florida sun.
The driver seat back has a tear.Dashboard is cracked.Window regulators are stripped where the crank handles attach.Missing the radio and a few other minor parts.Air conditioning doesn't work.
The automatic seat belts still worked last time this car was driven.Although water leaks in through the trunk, there doesn't seem to be any mold/mildew, or odors indicating that any is present. That being said, I would still recommend entering the vehicle with a respirator, just in case.

The 1.8l SOHC 4G37 engine had good compression in all cylinders, and will still run if you pour some motivation into the intake. The fuel pump is bad. It also needs a freeze plug behind the exhaust manifold and a new alternator bracket. The transmission needs a new clutch pivot ball, possibly a release fork, and a slave cylinder. The release fork will make contact with the transmission case and will not disengaging the clutch. This is a common problem and some people shim the pivot ball to solve the issue. The transmission will most likely need to be removed for the repair. Before the fuel pump failed, I would simply start the car in gear to move it around the yard.

This vehicle is slower than a 4 cylinder Geo Metro. Will turn heads, and stomachs. There are definitely more issues waiting to be discovered, and while this might not take too much effort to get back on the road, it would probably be best used for parts. Includes a single key and a clean Georgia title. It was last registered in 2015 and has been sitting ever since.
