Up for sale is this 1987 Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest Turbo Coupe.
The car was bought from Texas by the current owner, comes with a California clean title and no registration penalties.
This car has been restored in its original color without any rust on the body nor the chassis.It has been repainted in this beautiful Shetland Beige Metallic on a maroon interior which makes a great combination that pictures simply do not do it justice.
Both front seats were re-upholstered by a trusted professional with quality material with the original color.The interior is clean with original door cards that are in very good condition and the headliner looks great with no sagging or wrinkles
As shown in the pictures, the dashboard does contain cracks and needs to be re-upholstered in order to be perfect.
In regards to driving, this Conquest drives beautifully and loves to cruise at highway speed without issues with plenty of power.The turbo spools smoothly, the engine pulls healthy, strong, and is pretty fast.
The A/C does not work on the car. The owner of the car was going to have it looked at but simply did not have the time amidst the other project cars he is currently focused on so there was no time to finish the minor details to complete this project.
The important and expensive bits such as ensuring proper mechanical function, exterior paint done properly, and front seats upholstered to original condition were the owner's main focus as he began restoring this car.
The car underwent some recent maintenance in order to ensure it's in proper working/driving order.
All injectors are new, new spark plugs and spark plug wires, gas tank was cleaned, a new fuel filter, engine oil change and new air filter. It is mechanically sound, the transmission shifts properly, the clutch engages well with no slipping under load, and the brakes function properly.
Overall the car is in great shape and makes for a great driver. Whether it's on curvy backroads or highway cruising, this car will gladly handle each task effortlessly. There is no hesitation or hiccup when starting, hot or cold.With a couple performance modifications this car can become a very fun backroad car or keep it original for that classic 80's turbo car feel.
These cars are awesome to drive with such a timeless design of the 80's with the box flared fenders complimented by deep dish wheels giving it an aggressive stance alongside the classic pop-up headlights. They will always attract attention from gear heads who know what this car is, being very unique and not something you see every day.
