Description of 1949 Nash 600 Custom |
You are looking at a very nice old 1949 Nash Two-Door 600 sedan. This car was purchased new from Will's Motor Company in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1949. This car has not left the area since, so it has always been in a dry climate. The Nash has the original 6-cylinder Flathead motor and 3-speed transmission with overdrive. This is a 55 mph vehicle. This car has all new brakes and new wheel bearings, a new water pump and a new custom-made aluminum radiator. It has a fabricated custom fan shroud; this car never overheats with the new cooling system. This car is 98% rust-free. This car has nice chrome, no pitting, and all the moldings are present. Some have small dents. All the lights work, including the brake lights, and it also has a 6-volt ooga horn. This Nash has a brand-new windshield and windshield gasket. The gas tank was removed, cleaned, and resealed and the gas tank sending unit was rebuilt. It has an electric fuel pump. The Nash has a new headliner, new door panels, new seats, and is upholstered with cloth material. All the carpet has been removed and a couple small rust holes were repaired with the metal, then it was cleaned and resealed with POR, then new carpet and pad installed. The trunk floor is excellent with the original spare tire and wheel, and new trunk mat. There is no rust on the underside of the body, it is very clean. The heater motor runs, it has a stock radio and clock, and the radio has the electric on-the-floor station changer. The radio comes on but doesn't work. This car has a stock owner's manual. All the gauges work except the speedo. The right door window is cracked, and the right quarter glass has a BB gun crack. It has the stock 15-inch wheels with stock hubcaps and 205/70/15 radial tires in good shape. The vacuum wipers also work. As you can see in the pictures, this is a really nice old car that can be used now or restored later. This car runs out nicely. The one thing not working is the overdrive transmission. I have not looked into but it appears that it is all there and hooked up. The body is in excellent shape showing some small dents and scratches, but all-in-all in excellent shape. It also has a new exhaust system, and new transmission carrier bearing and seals. All fluids checked out and is ready to go. These Nashes are really rare and one in this shape is hard to find. If you are looking for a Nash, you could not do much better. Thanks for looking and call Jack for more information: 208-888-1240, 208-870-7266 (US MST, GMT -7)
