Description of 1960 Nash |
My wife and I have decided to find a new home for our baby. this cool little Nash Metropolitan due to too many projects and not enough time. We bought this little girl named "Madeline" ( all Met owners name their cars!) as a project to fix up and have spent alot of time and money putting him back on the road. It is a matching numbers car we purchased here in California. Based on the serial number he was built in Jan of 1960. The previous owner rebuilt the carb. many of the clutch and brake hydraulics. cleaned out the gas tank. fuel lines. brake lines. tc. We have added a new battery. done a tune up. and had the interior redone with new seats. and carpet. The tires. although older have plenty of great tread. We also replaced some trim that was missing so the car is totally complete. What attracted us most to the car was the wild retro 50's type colour scheme. The paint was done a number of years ago and is showing its age. There are a few surface rust spots . chips . parking lot type dings. and overall patina. We elected to keep it is it is . as it still get thumbs up everywhere we go. but if a better finish is desired a respray would be in order. This little smile maker is a car you can hop in. drive and enjoy today or take to the next level if desired. She starts right up . doesnt smoke. sounds great. and the brakes. clutch and trans all work fine. We also have clear California title in hand. and has been kept in a "non op" status since we purchased it so as to not pay any registration penalties while we carried out the refurbishing of the car. We hope Madeline can go to a new homee where she can be loved enjoyed as we haveThanks for looking! On Feb-16-15 at 13:15:56 PST. seller added the following information:We also received a question about the alternator conversion.
