Description of 1925 Nash Advanced Sport

This is an older restoration of a complete, original 1925 Nash Advanced Six, Two-Passenger Roadster. This was not a "field car" or a hulk resurrected from bits and pieces. It was purchased from a family member of the original owner, and he stated that the car had been restored at some point in the 1990s.

Car is an example of Nash's largest series for 1925, the Advanced Six.Features include:
  • 248.9 cid, 6-cylinder, OHV engine
  • 3-speed manual transmission
  • 4-wheel drum brakes
  • Budd-Michelin, 21-inch, steel disc wheels
  • Hotchkiss-type drive (no torque-tube)
  • 4.50:1 rear axle ratio
  • 121-inch wheelbase
  • 3,320-lb. curb weight

Work that was done:
  • Complete rebuild of engine, transmission, rear axle, brakes and suspension
  • Body and chassis stripped of all paint and rust
  • All brightwork fully replated in chrome
  • Wood body framing replaced where needed
  • Windshield glass replaced with SAFETY GLASS

Parts and supplies included (partial list):
  • Complete set of headlights, complete taillight with "NASH" logo lens and correct mounting bracket
  • Four restored NASH hubcaps
  • Rare, correct 1925 Nash Elginmechanical clock in good working order
  • Correct (hard-to-find), original Nash cast-aluminum, screw-on fuel cap
  • Hampton Coach seat springs/upholstery, already done and additional matching yardage for door panels and trim
  • Completely-rebuilt Stewart vacuum tank (@cost of $400. in 2006)

  • Nash Master Parts List, 1925-1932 (dealer parts catalog) plus 1924Nash parts code cross-reference book and extensive additional reference material on 1925 and 1926 Advanced Six models

Work needed to complete car:
  • New canvas material for folding top
  • Fuel tank cleaned and re-sealed (tank is solid with no leaks, but old sealer is peeling away)
  • Dash gauges reassembled and adjusted
  • Installation of above parts
  • Re-installation of floorboards and trunk boards (removed for access to fuel tank and wiring)
  • Some details on the car were incorrect when I purchased it and I fixed most, but the few that remain are easily corrected I have owned this car for over 20 years and selling only to help finance a motorhome I wish to buy.
