Description of 1969 Nissan Other |
History: The Nissan Patrol - G60 (Japanese: 日産・パトãƒãƒ¼ãƒ« Nissan PatorÅ ru) A series of large four-wheel drive vehicles manufactured by Nissan in Japan since 1951. The Patrol is generally regarded as a tough and utilitarian 4×4 in Australia and New Zealand, he Middle East, atin America, frica, urope, apan, nd the Caribbean, here it competed directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser (Which is its main rival in those markets). US customers could only get Patrols from 1962 until 1969. Patrols were sold through Datsun dealerships, aking it, t the time, he only Nissan-badged vehicles sold in the United States. Total Units Imported: ....... ~2600 vehicles. ~2000 Hard Tops ~ 600 Soft Tops Even with the super success of other Datsun/Nissan vehicle like the 240Z, airlady 1600/2000 Roadster, nd their popular 720 Pickups, he Patrol was one vehicle that just never gained a foothold in the U.S. Market. Even with sales ending stateside, roduction of the Patrol series continues even todayt/o Asia, frica, nd Australia Markets. 1969 Nissan Patrol - G60 ( 1 of 600 imported ) *Final year of production in U.S.
This project has taken about 1.5 years and countless hours of research and sourcing. Because the Nissan Patrol never gained a foothold in the U.S. market, here are "literally" NO parts available stateside for these vehicles. During the process of restoring, arts where sourced by doing using my contacts in Japan and Australia. That being said, arts in those countries are near exhausted. This was a all out restore. Every part of this vehicle wasstripped, nd things needed were replaced/rebuilt/refurbished/ or custom made to as close as factory. THE RESULT: In the end, he hard work has paid off... There are only a very small few Nissan Patrol's left in the U.S. that are still on the road today. Because I made sure to keep it as OE as possible while LITERALLY rebuilding it from the ground up..... I like to think of this Patrol as a "ONE OF A KIND"in the United States. Nissan Patrol Information: The motor was known as "P"engine, 3,956cc (241.4cuin) inline overhead-valve six-cylinder, eaturing bathtub-shaped combustion chambers and a fully balanced seven-bearing crank shaft. Characteristics:
Special Traits:
This is a very nice rig. Maybe driven 200 miles since completed. Took to car shows and a few daily cruises. Interior is a 9 of 10 in my opinion *( only because I haven'trecovered the rear seat.. has small tear and is old material )... Paint is a 8 out of 10. Some minor things, nly one crack in paint at hood bumper where it came down to hard on the fender. ( notnoticeable when closed.)I don't want to go into so much detail that it getsridiculous, utbelieve me when I sayevery part of this rig has been touched, ight down to the grease inthe axles.Paint is all new, eats new, ll gauges work, ewired, tc... I can't tell you the amount of hours spent rebuilding her.Black bed area is Chip-coated withbed liner, ot factory but I figured it was much better of a option for wear and tear. The top is something I had made custom. Its as close to factory in design. I used all weather waxed canvas, ndincorporated a 3mm clear windows in OEpositions. Local shop did all the stitching for me. Underneath is the full tube subframe.I have photos of the entire process, o you can see the amazing condition before, nd nowafter. Documentation make the difference for sales. Car runs very well, t has the OE 1barrel carb ( rebuilt of course. )... It has a slight cough at times at bottom end, r starting out. I've tried to remedy, ut have not been able to completely eliminate it. I didn't want to remove the carb as its OE, ut I'm sure a newer model, r updated carbwould most likely fix it. I am telling youthis, s I am a upfront and honest guy. The rig drives fantastic down the road. New tires, ew shocks, ts a great ride. Solidsuspension, ith tons of OE travel. This would make a fantastic collectors vehicle, f a sweet driver... But being the Patrol is so rare, nd a "Icon" of its day, would hope it gets a babied life. If you have question, eel free to ask. I'll get back with you asap. Thanks for looking. Brian |
