Description of 1965 Nissan Other |
1965 Nissan Patrol. Very rare truck! I purchased several months ago with the intention to repair/restore. Unfortunately, have too many other projects that are priority so I have to let this one go. The truck spent its life since 1981 locally. Was parked in a barn for 20+ years then sold to a small junk dealer who also couldnt find time for it either. I saw it one day driving for work and I owned it the next day. I have not registered the truck so it still has the title dated in 1981. The truck is very solid. Frame is in great shape. No holes or rotting anywhere. As for the body, ou could leave it as is, nd be ok for a long time. If you wanted to restore, ou will have some work ahead of you, ut not as bad what you usually find on the east coast for something this age. The front fenders, oors, ear side panels, ood, rille are very restorable and will need minimal work. The panels on the back side will need to be completely replaced. The tailgate is a 1 piece fold down style and has the side mount spare tire carrier which i was told makes this truck very rare. No holes rusted through the floors throughout the truck. Some areas are very crusty and need repair, ome areas are in really nice shape. All of the front floors and tunnel actually bolt it which I thought was pretty cool. The hood hinges will need to be replaced because they are seized. I had to unbolt the hinges to remove the hood. The drive train is complete. I do not know if the engine runs, owever, t does turn with ease. I put some mystery oil in each cylinder for a few days and then tried turning by hand. I do have a brand new starter for it because the original was missing. Again, just havent had time to mess with it. Tires are in really bad shape and will need replacing. As you can see in the photos, ll of the interior is there. Front seats and covers are actually in really nice shape. The rear jump seats are also in great shape. Someone covered them with their own fabric which will need replacing. The soft top bows are all there and very solid. Some of the original powder coating is still visible. When I bought this truck it had a home made hard top which I immediately removed. I can assist with shipment if necessary. I recently shipped some other vehicles across the country so I am familiar with the process and costs. I can include a tow bar which is currently mounted to the front bumper not shown in the pictures. I used it locally without issue, ut I wouldnt advise flat towing this long distances, ut that is up to you when you purchase the truck. Any additional details or photos, ust ask. This will be an awesome project for someone to take on. I get so many compliments and questions about it just sitting in my driveway. Will be a real head turner once it is restored. Good luck! |
