Imported last year from Hong Kong this unusual and rare Japan Market Only vehicle just last year was eligible for importation. Titled and licensed in Nevada it has completed the importation process and is ready for many enjoyable miles on American highways. Perfect for shop truck, pizza delivery and commercial use with it's low load floor and large flat side panels for signage. With only 119,278 kilometers (65000 miles) this vehicle is in very good condition.

History

The Nissan S-Cargo is a small retro commercial van manufactured by Nissan. The styling of the S-Cargo was directly inspired by the appearance of the small

postwar French Citroën 2CV Fourgonnette delivery van; it even used a Citroën style single spoke steering wheel. The 2CV was in its final years of production in

the late 1980s and had a niche popularity in Japan at this time. Its name was adouble entendre meaning both "Small Cargo" as well as "Escargot", the French

word for snail, a nickname for the Citroën 2CV being The Tin Snail.

The van was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1989. It was built by a Nissan special projects group called Pike Factory, which also produced other niche

automobiles such as the Be-1, Pao and Nissan Figaro. Approximately 12,000 S-Cargos were manufactured. All vehicles are right hand drive. While initially

marketed only in Japan, the S-Cargo has spread as a grey import vehicle. In Japan, it was exclusive to Japanese Nissan dealership network called Nissan Cherry Store.

Walk around video and running engine available. I have used this vehicle in my business, which is attending trade shows to sell my automobile inspired watches. It is fitted with shelving and a 500lb capacity roll out bin. It has a custom wrap which is easily removed to reveal the non standard (all S-Cargos were white from the factory) Kawasaki green paint. All door jams and door panels have been painted white, with the exception of under the hood. No rust is evident. There are some primer spots on the green paint surface- tailgate and around one oval window. It’s very economical, light and nimble with sprightly performance from the 1.5-liter engine. Often photographed by curious onlookers as it attracts attention wherever you go.

Current Condition-

Excellent, needs nothing. Comes with extensive documentation, owner’s manual, parts manual and workshop manual. Running gear and engine is from the common Nissan Sentra so parts are readily available from Canada, Japan and other Asian sources. New battery. Sunroof replaced in 2013. New Tires.
