Description of 1991 Nissan 300ZX |
Hello. nbsp;I am a mechanical engineer with a passion for automotive technology which I have poured into my Z32. I bought this car 5 years ago and quickly learned I wanted more out of the car so I went to work designing the perfect Z32. I had two goals in mind: 1) make it fast 2) make it more reliable. After a few years of research I completed a list of exactly what parts I wanted: it has a fresh new engine and turbos for the car. I had this engine built and installed about three years ago and was not let down. 9000 miles into the new engine I had it dynoed at 513 whp and 460 ft-lbs of torque. This car now accelerates like a bat out of hell. and has almost no turbo lag at all. Having the performance and reliability taken care of I went about making the car comfortable and nice to ride in. I had the interior re-upholstered with synthetic leather replacing the ugly carpet side panels and genuine leather with red stitching on the seats and center console. I used my background in mechanical engineering to design a functional mounted sub-woofer enclosure. The car was painted a dark Midnight Blue color shortly after the motor build. I believe a car looks best stock and as you can see this Z32 looks completely stock. The four wheel steering HICAS system has been maintained and is still fully functional. pretty rare sense most people just delete the rear steer when a problem arises with it. One thing to note is there are no catalytic converters so in some states the car will not pass emissions tests as it currently is. A year ago I got a job in Silicon Valley California and have been using the Z to commute to work two days a week in terrible traffic. San Jose has the 4th worst traffic in the USA. My commute consists of 7 miles of bumper to bumper traffic. the absolute worst possible commute in a 500 hp Z32. I have turned down the boost to lower the power in an effort to make the car better in traffic. this did not work. This car is meant to be driven on twisty mountain roads and highways. sunny Sunday drives. open commutes. along the beautiful seashore. not stop-and-go traffic. Thus I have decided to sell it as it just is such a waste of a beautiful car. If you have any questions about any of the work done or anything else please feel free to ask!
