Description of 1980 Nissan GT-R V-spec ii |
|
For sale is a one-of-a-kind car that was resurrected from the dead to what you see in the photos. You will be hard-pressed to find something cleaner and in a condition such as this. What we have here is a 2001 Nissan R34 GTR VSPEC II. It has a Florida title and I’ve owned it for 5 years. It’s time to let someone enjoy this amazing vehicle and allow me to move on to my next project. Over 5,000 man-hours were put into this car and it is in near mint condition! BACKSTORY I have been building/restomodding cars for over 20 years. The build I did prior to this was an Evo E30 M3 and its photos vent viral. Like most car junkies, I have always wanted an R34 GTR and the opportunity came for me in 2013. I purchased a 2001 GTR (VIN BNR34404119). It was pearl white and experienced a rear-end collision in Japan. It was deemed not repairable because it need a new main chassis and was therefore sold via auction as a parts car. I purchased it to bring it back to life. It would be the challenge of my life but I was up for it. I tried to buy a main chassis from Nissan but realized quickly that there would be too many hoops to jump through. Luckily, I found a roller chassis in Florida which was already titled and registered in the US, so I purchased it. On paper, my car is a 1998 Nissan R34 with a VIN from that car. I used it as a structural base foundation. I took it into the shop, trimmed out all the panels and I ordered a container full of parts from Japan for the 2001 chassis. I painstakingly assembled the chassis to OE specs. I finished all the fabrication of sheet metal and then sand blasted every inch of it. I sprayed fresh paint inside-out and top to bottom. Then I transferred all the V-SPEC II components to the new chassis. All the parts were restored one by one to make them like new. I got the car to run with its stock engine which had 90,000 km (57,000 miles) on it. After a few drives around town, I decided I needed more power. I pulled the motor and gearbox and rebuilt both (be sure to check out the restoration video on YouTube). Along the way, I ordered the Z-Tune body kit from Nismo Japan and it arrived with all original parts and Nismo certifications codes. I kept the upgrades going and at this point, anything available for this car was purchased and has been installed (see the list below). I spent over $150,000 on this build and have driven the car a handful of times and added only 800 km (480 miles). It has sat in a showroom the rest of the time. Car is set up to run on pump fuel or e85 (flex fuel system). It was tuned by Jasson Herraro, a local tuner in Houston. It makes 600 hp on pump gas and 899 hp / 600 torque to all 4 wheels with 68% ethanol fuel. I haven’t tried 100% ethanol but would expect it to produce over 1,000 hp. There are no mechanical issues to report on the car. Cosmetically, the only items to note are minor scrapes under the lower front lip (from a driveway) and one very small rock chip on front bumper.
There are many more to list, but above is all the major things I can think of. I have all of invoices and photos of all records. A 5-inch-thick file will come with the car for the buyer and I will also provide hundreds of photos and many videos. Serious buyers and bidders only, please. If you have less than 5 feedback on eBay, please message me first before bidding. I am also open to answering any questions you may have. Just send me a message and I’ll respond ASAP. If you want to chat, message me with your phone number and I’ll give you a call. I’m selling the car as is but welcome any professional inspectors to come and check out the car for you. A $5,000 deposit is due after the auction ends. The full balance must be paid by bank wire within 7 days of the auction ending. I want to reiterate that this vehicle is registered as 1998 Nissan R34 on paper. I will work with your transport company to help ship the car anywhere in the world. Thank you and good luck!
