Description of 1986 Nissan Other Pickups ST |
Up for your consideration is my 1986 Nissan 720 ST Extended Cab. This truck currently has less than 112,xxx miles showing on the working odometer, andfor being 32 years old is in superb ORIGINAL condition. The ST was the top of the line offering from Nissan that year, and this particulartruck is loaded with every factory option except forAC. It has power windows/locks, factory sunroof, gauge pack, deluxe cloth upholstery, etc. It is VERY difficult to find an ST like this, especially with a 5 speedanywhere in the country. Believe me, I looked for quite some time before finding this one. Immediately after purchase, I proceeded to give the truck a bit of personality, and installed a new Belltech lowering kit (dropspindles in front, 3"blocks in rear). Truck also received new KYB gas-a-just shocks at that time.I then purchased a new set of16x8 Rota "Grid" wheels finished in gun metal grey and mountedContinental Extreme Contact tires. Tires slightly rub inner fenderat full lock. I also installed energy suspension bump stops in the front. It rides and drives EXCELLENT with these subtle mods. less than 500 miles driven after installation of aftermarket items.*Please Note thatALL original parts includingstock spindles, stock wheels with decent BFG's, etc are all included in sale. Thistruck is easily returned to "Stock" if one so desired*. As for mechanicals, I replaced the original carb (also included) with a Weber 32/36 DGEV, and gave it a complete tune up (plugs/wires/etc). Truck starts easily and runs well, and can be driven anywhere, but carb may be set just a touchon the rich side. I am picky, so most would never notice, but full disclosure is important to me when selling one of my vehicles. 5spd manual transmission is smooth. Clutch does not chatter or slip. No odd noises or issues whatsoever. As for the body, I will let the close-up photos speak for themselves. To the best of my knowledge, the truck is 100% original and still wearing its factory applied paint. No accidents ever. Being 32 years old, there is a hint of rust showing in a few areas on the body and some small dings that could easily be corrected by a PDR technician. I will let the close-up photos speak for themselves. Anyone familiar with these trucks, knows how incredibly rust-prone they were, and to see one in this condition is a rarity indeed. The frame and underside is absolutely beautiful, with little to no rust (or surface corrosion) whatsoever. Interior is in beautiful condition as well, with only a couple of small blemishes. The most noteworthy being a small (what I guess is?) cigarette burn on the drivers seat bolster. Truck has original windshield with antenna. unfortunately it has a crack in it low on the passenger side, I did not want to have an aftermarket windshield installed. Truck recently received a trophy at this summers "Back to the 80's" car show, and every single person that looked at it could not believe the condition it is in. It is truly a special truck. So there you have it!! If you have been looking for an amazing original example of a pre-hardbody Nissan 720, this is it! If you're wondering why I am selling it, not long after purchase of the truck, I founda BMW E30, and that has been taking all of my extra time and garage space. As much as I'd like to keep both, I do not have the room, and would rather not see the 720 sit. I have way more money invested in this truck than my reserve is set at. Someone is going to get an incredible deal on this piece of history. I do my best to be thorough when describing something, but I may have forgotten to mention this or that... If you have any questions about the truck at all, please ask BEFORE bidding. I do not want there to be any surprises and want the prospective buyer to know exactly what they are purchasing. 32 year old used vehicles will always require tinkering, so please be sure to keep that in mind as well. All of that said, trucks like this are becoming more and more rare everyday, and this is truly a superb original example! Sold as is.$500 non refundable paypal deposit payment due at end of auctionBalance to be payed within 7 days of auction end via wire transfer or money order from large banking institution. Thank you very much for looking!!! |
