Description of 1983 Nissan 280ZX |
Vehicle Details 1983 Datsun 280ZX Non-Turbo 95k miles custom Shelby GT grey paint job with black racing stripes (paint swatch included for matching color), manual 5-speed transmission with extremely smooth NEW clutch, original gorgeous interior, all electronics work except the cassette player, A/C and Heat both work extremely well, T-tops come out & can be stored in the back with luggage straps. Visible rust on the interior of the front and back wheel wells on both sides with some rust under the paint on the top of the back wheel wells. Visible rust around rear windows and on the back bumper near tail lights. Pocket rust on the hood, and in typical Z fashion, a rusted under carriage. See pictures with labels in the description for picture locations. This car was fully serviced by a local Datsun mechanic from 2017-2020, all problematic mechanical issues have been taken care of including: new gas tank and gas pump, new trunk lid support, new alternator, new distributor, new spark plugs, new timing and fan belts, flushed coolant system, and replaced brake pads. The L28E engine in this car is extremely reliable, the mechanic that serviced this car has one still running at nearly 300,000 miles in his daily driver. We purchased this car back in 2016 and I have daily driven it and serviced it regularly for the last 25k miles. I took my driver's test in this beautiful car and I have loved every minute driving it since. It is the perfect amount of fast and responsive to enjoy driving on windy roads or just around town, it is hands down an amazing experience and leaves me wanting to go for a drive after taking a break from the car for a few days. Unfortunately due to future life plans I have purchased a new car and would love to get this car to a good home who will hopefully put the body work and time into it to start fresh. We have been regularly told that with fixed body work this car is worth nearly double the buy now cost. The car comes with all of the factory literature, service history, and full spare tire and service kit. The interior lighting, I'm just going to be straight, is a bit janky. I did properly route the cables and do a fuse tap so it looks ok when installed with good adhesive. That being said, I did not replace the included stuff with the good quality tape when installing it so it has fallen apart over the last 3 years, but with an hour or so of time it could be a lot better with some 3m tape replacement, or it could be completely thrown out of the car in probably less than an hour. If you do buy the car I can give you a more detailed explanation of where all the cables are ran through the trim and console. But as shown in the photos the lighting at night is a really nice touch that I recommend putting the time into getting right, it has just fallen over time and could use some TLC. The rust on the undercarriage was coated in rust converter and undercarriage lining in 2017 and 2020, hower most of it has failed as seen in the photos, oil will be replaced and all fluids will be topped off before purchase. Interior hand brake needs to be serviced. All original print material from the dealership included as well as the paint swatch, and the service history from our local mechanic. |
