Description of 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

If you're kind of looking for a Chevelle or GTO but not finding any within your budget, erhaps you should start thinking differently. Take this 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, or example. The same tidy A-body footprint, uniquely aggressive Oldsmobile look, nd a fantastic combination of power and luxury that the junior brands can't quite match. Check it out.The code V Antique Pewter paint gives this big Olds a mature but somewhat sinister look, ike it's all dressed up for a night out, omplete with black leather gloves and an attitude. The paint is about five years old and shows pretty well, ut a cut and buff would work wonders on it, aking it up a few levels without a big investment. The clean flanks are free of messy body cladding or trim, nd the guys who did the work were careful to maintain that crisp line that frames the wheel wells and tracks along the rocker panels. Nice! The wide grille with quad headlights was a distinctive Oldsmobile look for more than a decade, nd it looks right without trying too hard. Stacked taillights were used throughout the lineup, o there's a full-sized connection to the brand even from behind. Chrome and stainless are quite nice and really pop against the dark gray paint, nd the black vinyl top was installed at the same time, o it looks fresh.Bucket seats were rather rare in Oldsmobiles, ut if you're cross-shopping from the Chevelle store, ou'll be thrilled to see them here. New seat covers with correct materials and patterns leave no doubt that this is a GM A-body, nd there are matching black carpets on the floor. It's quite possible that the door panels are original, ince they're not quite as nice, ut if they are, hen you know someone loved this car, ecause they're in great shape. And as I said, s an Oldsmobile, ou got a few perks like factory A/C, ower steering and power front disc brakes. Today there's a newer AM/FM/CD stereo under the dash in its own housing, o the original dash wasn't hacked up for the install, nd custom kick panels with built-in speakers are a subtle way to improve the sound quality. Also take a moment to check out the ultra-clean trunk, omplete with color-matched spare wheel and tire assembly and a new mat.Oldsmobile's 330 cubic inch V8 was hardly a slouch in the performance department. Cackling to life with that characteristic Oldsmobile starter chatter, t idles smoothly and pulls with torque that suggests more cubic inches at work than there actually are. The engine is completely stock, nd as a result it's reliable and easy to service. Fresh Rocket Gold paint on the block and a flashy Jetfire air cleaner give it an Oldsmobile look under the hood, nd thanks to a factory-style exhaust system, t sounds powerful, et subdued. A 3-speed automatic transmission and the original rear end mean that it's a superlative highway cruiser, nd while the ride is smooth and supple, t is far from clumsy when the road starts to twist. Classic Magnum 500 wheels look good on just about anything, nd on this Olds they wear 225/70/14 white-letter radials that look sporty. So take advantage of the Oldsmobile's anonymity, ou might just find that there's a lot more car here than you expect, specially at this price.
