1966 Olds Toronado ... Video Running and Walk Around Super Nice...

This car is originally an Arizona car and I have the protecto-plate to prove it.
Also have owners manual, riginal brochure and salesman's business card.
All original except for paint and normal service items.

Radio is a repro to fit in original spot and works-has aux input too-decent speakers in original location-single front and rear.
Tires were custom ordered from Diamondback-mats custom repros.
Has original A/C compressor converted to R134a-see pic with new condenser-blows cold.
Runs and drives great-In drove back from Wisconsin a year ago.Had a bad oil leak from manifold to block-I replaced all related gaskets including valve covers-there is still some residual oil in undercarriage photos...
I took a trophy at Atco and Tabernacle-local shows...always the only Toro at the show...I just drove the car today 8/16/15 and she is running great!
Will consider interesting trades-I like Firebirds from the early 70's!!!

I am happy to answer questions-please be respectful-I have been working on cars for 40 years and will do my best to give an honest and educated answer/opinion these 425 Olds Engines and Turbo 425 transmissions are bulletproof if properly maintained.

This car makes no strange noises and pulls hard-sounds awesome with flowmaster muffler and glasspack resonators-see the video! It ran a low 16 at the strip with no traction at launch-would be high 15 car with some practice...

Hi Ebay Toronado fans-here are some popular questions answered so far...

I have no idea what happened to the front nose piece-it is a 67 look-the weird thing is the color matches inside and out some guys have said it could have been a late production...I see no other signs of a front end collision so if it was it was very minor. Hood fit I haven't really looked into-there are signs it was removed for paint and it could definitely be aligned better-maybe a hinge adjustment-never bothered me enough to mess with it. Both bumpers have newer hardware so were either removed for paint or rechroming and replaced-there are no dings in either bumper-there is a small one-an outee-on the hood where someone shut the hood without checking for air filter stud clearance-ouch...the original air filter housing is included in the saleand is in good original condition-it will not fit with the HEI distributor and it had a small chrome one when I got it that just wouldn't do so I replaced it with the edelbrock alloy one.
Yeah I was thinking of power washing the underside and taking new pics-if it doesn't sell and I decide it is really hurting it I would before relisting.

It does not leak anything now-it is going to seep a little from the pan, iming cover and rear main as it is nearly 50 years old-same for the transmission-I have added a quart to it each spring only-wanted to change fluid and filter but no one will touch it due to liability...shifts smooth and tight-it does NOT kick down however for passing gear-you can shift it manually and it will go into and stay in first or secondwhen manual shifted up or down-again nobody wants to be liable.
When I drove it back the 900 miles from Wisconsin it was leaking so bad from the manifold and the fan was blowing it everywhere it started to come out at the rear of the hood...I had to add 2 quarts over the trip from that...while getting 17 mpg-I doesn't appear to use much if any at all now-had the oil changed in the spring and have put a couple hundred miles on and still clean and full. And yes I use mobil 1 15w-50 synthetic. I have changed it 2x in about 3000 miles since owning and added 1 quart about 1500 miles into the first one. When I pulled the manifold and valley cover to replace the gaskets I inspected the cam and rockers-very little sludge in valve covers and cam looked great. I put new plugs and wires in when manifold was addressed-all looked good with no oil fouling or uneven coloring-nice medium brown. I painted the manifold and valve covers in the correct color ordered direct from Fusik old car parts. I also replaced the front window seals with new ones and have new trunk drain tubes-I put radiator hoses on and haven't replaced yet-again will be included in the sale.
