1968 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible FACTORY RED 1968 442 CONVERTIBLE, 55 4-SPEED, FRAME OFF, BLACK SPLIT BENCH INTERIOR, LACK TOP. The previous owner of this beautiful factory red (344 vin) real 442, wned and cherished this awesome Oldsmobile for the last 15 years and completed an extensive frame off restoration 5 years ago. The body is very solid and intact from top to the amazing bottom. Very nice pinch welds on doors, loors and quarters. Great panel fit and new chrome bumpers. The car was repainted very close to the original red color, ut enhanced slightly covered in gorgeous House of Kolor Cosmos Red. Much more vibrant. New 442 emblems and stripes. Under the hood of this muscle machine has been upgraded with a rebuilt, ate coded fire breathing 455 10- 1 compression and a Mondello cam topped off with correct air cleaner. Power steering and manual brakes that work great. This is an original factory 4-speed car that is launched by a Muncie 4-speed transmission that shifts beautifully through the gears and is backed by a 3.91 posi rear end. Lots of new suspension parts and newer exhaust for that muscle car rumble. The interior was mostly replaced during the restoration process and has very nice seats, arpet and the dash and instrument cluster are in amazing condition with with clear crisp gages. The trunk is rust free with a new coat of splatter paint.
