Description of 1966 Oldsmobile 442

Up for bid is my 1966 F85 442 Club Coupe. This is an original 3 speed on the column 442. Yes, lds made "3 on the Tree" 442s. The base transmission was the 3 speed on the column and when no other transmission was specified, he car you see here arrived at the dealer. The car was originally Tropic Turquoise with Turquoise interior. It is now a shade of Burgundy and whats left of the interior is black. The dash pad and headliner were sprayed black, ut you can see the original Turquoise in spots. The seats are long gone, n its place is a racing bucket. Door panels are from a 67.
As you can see in the photos the car has been turned into a pro street/race car. I bought the car this way after it sat in a local pole barn for over 30 years (see photo). The engine appears to be original. It is the correct 390925 E block 400. The heads are G. The motor was built by Holbrook Engines in Livonia MI. It has a solid lifter Comp Cam cam shaft, arland Sharp Roller Rockers, delbrock Intake, allory Ignition, ew Holley carb, ew almrad, nbsp;headers, nd full exhaust.Runs cool,Trans is a Muncie 4 speed with Mr Gasket Vertigate shifter.Has a one piece scatter shield and two drive shaft loops.Rear end is a Dana 60 narrowed with 5.38 gears. Axles are Strange, heels are Cragar Super Tricks, nd tires are Mickey Thompsons.
The body is straight but has been gutted. The floor pans are gone and have been replaced with aluminum sheet. Trunk floor has some original pans on the outsides but the middle has sheet with a fuel cell mounted to it. The rear seat X brace has been removed to make room for the roll bar and the quarter window inner sheet metal has been cut out. Those windows are still in the car but do not roll down. Rear wheel houses are gone and in their place are two tubs to house the huge rear tires. Front wheel houses have also been removed. have a pair that goes with car.
The frame has the original front frame horns but from the toe boards back is all square tubing. Rear end is a three link with new adjustable Koni Coil overs.
Paint is scratched up and looks better in the photos than in person. Has some bubbles down low on one rear quarterand no rust holes. all doors close good andbody gaps are great. The car was built and sat for 30 years, o all the 442 emblems, ail lights, ender vents etc are all original and not reproductions. The original cowl tag has damage on the front side (sand blaster/welder?) so I removed it to see what exactly it said from the back. From the backside you can see the 5V code. The car now has a new cowl tag made exactly like the old. The car still has the column shift manual steering column with its original Turquoise paint seen under the dash. Ive been told this car is the second 3 speed on the Tree 442 to be found. And it being a Club Coupe it needs to be restored to stock. A very rare car that could be enjoyed as is, r if restored into a one of 2 found factory freaks.
