It's time to let her go. In the spring of 1971 my two cousins and I watched the local Chevy/Buick and Oldsmobile dealership unload this beautiful 442 from the car hauler in Prestonsburg KY. It was my cousin's high school graduation gift that he ordered as described. He drove this car for about 4 years until he purchased a more fuel efficient car to drive while in college. This car went into storage at that time and was only driven occasionally when he was home to visit. He was not a racer, nd admired his car, nbsp;so it was not abused. Except for occasional driving, his car was in storage from approximately 1976 until 2003, hen I purchased this car from my cousin. He had started restoration on this gem of a ride. Taking his time with this and with other obligations of life, e lost interest in restoring. Frustrated that he didn't have time nor patience to complete, purchased it disassembled and began the project. I finished the restoration a couple years later around 2005-2006. The only original pieces I could not find at the time I purchased it was the a/c hoses and some brackets. Due to their garage burning, was unable to return to find the original hoses & brackets. The hoses on it now are from a Buick GS. I have the factory intake, alve covers and other parts that I upgraded from that will go with the sale. As you can see from the pictures, his car is unique. It was special ordered the way he wanted it, ith bucket seats, o console, column shift, nbsp;14" tires, nd no frills. This car is strong running and has approx 200 miles on the engine since freshened up. Originally it had a vinyl top, hich I chose not to restore. There is zero rust in this car and has had only two small repairs to the rear quarters behind the wheels. Absolutely no bondo in this car. Bumpers and chrome look very good. Front seat covers have been replaced and the color is not an exact match. Carpet has been replaced but appears original. The headliner above rear window has a small section where the thread has come loose in the seam, ther than this the headliner is great. Door panels and other interior trim is in great condition. The body is straight and the paint is DuPont base/clear coat in the original color. Paint is about 9 years old but still looks very good. There are a couple of minor chips. This car has been shown in a couple local car shows and was a winner both times. It is being sold "as is" with no warranty whatsoever. Buyer assumes all responsibility at time of sale.I have tried to provide as much detail as possible but if you have questions please ask and I will try to answer in a timely manner.
