Description of 1970 Oldsmobile 442 |
1970 442 W30 Post Coupe Auto. Up for sale is a very rare, riginal and real 70 w30 post coupe. There were 262 W30 post coupes made in 1970, f which 142 were 4 speeds. This post coupe auto is 1 of 120 made, ith very few left. Sherwood Green (code 48)/ Parchment interior (937). Lansing built, umbers matching drive train. Block vin matches the car vin. OW trans stamp matches vin. SF code 3.23 posi rear, D cooling. Lots of great options: parchment interior, uckets/console, power driver seat, ower windows, M/FM stereo, track, ally pack gauges and steering wheel, ir Conditioning, S1 wheels. This car spent most of it's life in Florida/south, o the frame is very clean and there's no terrible northern rust. The rear 1/4's and drops are very nice. The wheel lips are excellent. Original 70 flat ridge fenders, ost doors both very nice. The lower fenders of course will need work, ike every 442 out there. The windshield must have leaked, o there is rust on the inside of the firewall. The inside door seams are nice, ut the corners have a some bubbles in the paint. See pics. Hood and original 70 only decklid needs work. The underside of the hood will need a new airbox, nd some metal work. The core support is nice, ut under the battery has rust... as always. Floors and trunk are very nice with scale only, o major rot. The car will need work, ut is a great, olid start. As of this listing, have not found a build card in the interior. I have not dropped the tank. Looks like 1 repaint at least 20 years ago. Original glass is excellent. Interior was redone at some point and is very nice. This car is an original W30, nd can be verified by any knowledgeable Olds enthusiast. I also have the history back to the 90's, hen the car was owned by a well known Olds collector in Fl. I can also provide a "Rocket Report"/Steve Minore verification document. * W30 parts are as follows: restored/ rebuilt (F heads 336, 111979 dist, 040258 carb), Olds 455" W30 intake, AI air cleaner. 404847 X waterpump, xcellent original red wells. Bumpers are very nice.. front still has gm/nos sticker. Car ran and drove when parked for restoration. The car is currently awaiting restoration, ut I have another priority. I'm offering this up before making the leap into a full resto. The car could be running/driving if assembled over a weekend, ut it's counter productive to re-assemble just for a driver/sale. The dash would need to be installed, luids topped, attery, tc. I have many pictures of every part prior to disassembly. All are taped/tagged. This car is a driver with some weekend work, lean up, nd respraying the hood and decklid. Then fix as you go.... or restore. Everything is there. The last 6 pictures are prior to parts being pulled. The carb shown on the w intake is incorrect. Currently, he interior dash/belts, c parts, oses, tc are bagged and tagged. Car is in northern NJ at an outstanding resto shop who specializes in 442's. Car could be completed there. I'm sure the owner can provide an expert opinion and quote for any work required. Auction may be pulled for any reason. If you have questions, lease contact me asap. No bs, lease figure out your plans before questions or bids. *Note: I "may" be interested in 442/w30 trades. I do have extra parts from other projects: H heads - 6k, 0 intakes-1k, w30 carbs, nquire. **This is a 45 year old 442 W30. If your a serious bidder, lease contact me for additional pics, r come inspect the car in person. If your unsure about anything, sk, r do not bid. Thanks |
