Up for bid is a 1989 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight sedan with 12k two owner miles, and second owner earlier this year was daughter of original owner for estate sale purposes (mom died last year at age 98.) Lifelong South Carolina car. No body rust, super nice undercarriage sporting the original exhaust and muffler as testimony to low miles. Paint is good but does have one total repaint. Loaded up with power everything and most of it works - cold a/c, PW, PS, etc. Powered provided by its original 3.8L multiport injected V6 engine and 4 speed automatic transmission. Delivers 19 mpg in townand 31 highway mpg. Exceptionally nice shape throughout - looks just like what it is: a seldom used car owned by a very old lady. Good Carfax and always GM dealer maintained. Runs and drives like new - drive this car anywhere. NO RESERVE. Questions? Click "ask seller a question" or call Fred at 315-246-0612. Please allow time for a response as I work 8-5 at a regular job in Charleston. Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all six cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Newer battery, good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. The two key parts that go bad from sitting - fuel pump and radiator - have been replaced. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all four forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is in excellent shape - not so much as a door ding. No rust ever. Paint: Paint is in nice shape, slightly brighter than the white in the door jambs. Other: Trim is all present and in nice shape. Chrome bumpers are spotless. Plastic rear quarter fillers are a little warped. Windshield and all other glass are excellent - no wiper scratches or fading on edges of original Solar-Ray windshield. Undercarriage is spotless - see the pics of undercarriage. Hubcaps are in good shape with a little curb rash on the right front. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is simply like new with no wear. Carpets are good, seats are nice and still soft, and rear deck carpeting is nice. Dash and door panels are perfect. Headliner is sagging a little in the back. Very nice interior for any age, but WAY better than average for 27 years old. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) The power antenna does not work but everything else does including power windows, power locks, power seat, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo, intermittent wipers, and rear defrost all work. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out beautifully as you'd expect of a 12k mile car. Steering is tight, alignment is dead on, and suspension is tight. Brakes work well with about 70% life remaining (I seriously think they are the original brakes). Tires have about 80% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality radials. Solid exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drives GREAT - drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small non-refundable deposit as listed (but fast) by Paypal within 24 hours. Balance due in 5 days by cash in person, wire transfer, or Wells Fargo cashier's check.
