As the end of an era, the 1972 Oldsmobile 442 is not an easy car to take home for an affordable price. So a faithful tribute with a comfortable A/C interior like this one is just the ticket for the value-mined muscle car enthusiast.Code-65 Flame Orange is this coupe's original color, and it makes Olds/GM fans excited because they know it was a one-year offering. Today the bright paint has a great metallic element added, that way they can see you shining from across the cruise-in parking lot. And speaking of shine, the bumpers have a great mirror-like appearance thanks to a recent visit to the chrome shop. This is particularly important because 1972 was the last year the bumpers were so form fitting before federal regulations and a redesign altered with the Cutlass (and this fastback with the rear fender "kick up" is arguably the best-looking Olds ever.) This one has all the right 442 performance touches such as the dual hood stripes, correct badging, and the color-match large rear spoiler. These themes of brightwork and aggressive orange are unified perfectly on the color-matched Rally II wheels. The black interior is pure Oldsmobile. It features nicely pleated seats, thick carpeting, and a nice button-pattern door panels. There's plenty of period-correct luxury like the burled walnut dash appliqus and three pod-style stainless steel gauge faces. But what will really impress you is the factory air conditioning. These might have been classified as the intermediate size, but back then, that meant offering plenty of room for up to six people inside this Olds. So you're looking at a camaraderie kind of classic that can carry family and friends in complete comfort. Oldsmobile people know that a Rocket 350 cubic-inch motor is something very special. Olds manufactured their own V8 engines during this era, and they shared no major components with the Chevy version. Thanks to its higher nickel content in the iron block, the motor has proven to be virtually indestructible out in the real world. Plus there's plenty of power from the four-barrel carb topping this V8. It has a distinctive growl as this more sophisticated motor exhales through glasspack-style dual exhaust pipes. It's nicely presented, with gold paint on the engine, 442 branded air grabber, and red inner fender walls for that aggressive W30 appearance. But more than just appearance, this is a fantastic cruiser thanks features such as power steering, cruise control, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission. A great factory color, all the right 442 touches, cold A/C, and plenty of rumble from the V8 this is a total package kind of classic. So, if you're quick enough to grab it, your search for the perfect value-priced Olds is over. Call today!!!
