Description of 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado |
Up for bidding is literally "Grampa's car", that has been on the west coast since brand new. This spring, due to the settlement of an estate, we found ourselves owners of this rock solid beauty. It was shipped to us this March from California, where it had been sitting in semi storage for years and years. The car was driven occasionally, to the store and such, but pretty much sat out in the driveway tanning. It even has a battery cut-off switch installed due to the extended storage times. The body is extremely solid, one of the nicest that you'll ever find, and it has an undercarriage that looks like new (see pics). The motor runs well, and the transmission has no issues. The car has been taken to some car shows this summer (a few hundred miles), with no problems at all. The paint has been sun faded on the hood, roof, and trunk lid, but there are no body dents, dings, or rusty areas. The interior got the worst of the sun damage. The seats are vinyl and cloth, but have gotten brittle in spots and are torn. The headliner is sagging and needs replacing. The trunk comes with the proper spare tire and changing equipment. The tires have good tread and hold all their air. The complete brake system was restored this spring, when we got the car. That included everything, booster, wheel cylinders, etc. The car stops on a dime. The car does not leak oil or any fluids, it does not overheat, the transmission shifts smoothly in all gears. The old transistor am radio only plays static, and the clock has stopped. The headlights work, but recently one started staying up, so some vacuum line fixing will probably be needed. This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have 100% LIFETIME feedback as a seller, so no worries here. This car can be driven every day, if desired. While needing a little work from sitting to mint it out, the car is as solid a 1967 as you'll ever find. Current NADA blue book lists average retail price as $18,690, and high retail as $32,865. Check for yourself. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding, and please have the money to complete the sale. |
