Description of 1966 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Factory A/C Numbers Matching 425 |
This is a one-owner all original 1966 Oldsmobile 98 LS. It belonged to my mother and was covered and garaged continually until about 2 years ago. The photos show it in the garage and outside. It hadn’t been run since 2008. It was removed to a local garage which was to put it back in running condition. That’s been a frustrating process. The garage has it running but the fuel tank is rusted and rust particles clog the fuel filter. The tank was treated with a professional kit but didn’t hold the inside coating. Currently a local shop is supposed to be fabricating a new fuel tank, which is taking too long. I don't believe they have even started. The old tank is currently removed and at the shop. I can give you the contact at the auto service center who, if he's willing, can confirm what I'm said. The car has sat outside for 2 years now and is not as pristine as shown in the photos. I don't have more current photos because I can't find the ones it took last spring. I’m not positive about some of the specifics, like the mileage. If you are seriously interested, please contact me. There was only one minor fender bender with the car, which was repaired about 20-30 years ago. From sitting outside, a crack has opened in the Bondex repair on the left rear fender. The upholstery is original, but has some mildew spots and some wear. There’s no significant body rust. Check the photos. The car is all original, with an 8 track player, original sticker and owner's manual, chassis shop manual and some new repair items. These items are in NJ and will have to be sent to you. A car cover is included only if I find it before selling the car. The car is in Big Stone Gap, VA, about 50 minutes off I-81 from Kingsport, TN. I’m in NJ which is why I can’t be more specific or give you current photos. You can see the car at the VA auto shop. Contact me for info. You'll have to take delivery in Big Stone Gap and arrangement shipment. I'm not there or I would help. I was going to keep and restore the car but have lost interest because it's taking too long and I'm not local to the car. If you want a classic "big boat" "huge V-8 engine" luxury sedan from the '60's, here you go! You can fit at least 4 bodies in the trunk. I’m selling “as is”. “As is” means as it currently sits after release from the shop with no new fuel tank and no guarantees on running. About all I can do for the fuel tank is have the original tank put back on the car. Again, I'll refer you to the local shop owner if you have concerns. Make me an offer if you want this car. Local delivery only. Cash or equivalent funds only or cleared payment before taking possession. Clear title delivered only after payment if full with cleared funds. Absolute no representations or warranty. The car is for sale by other than this listing. I reserve the right to end this sale at any time for any reason. |
