1953 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 custom

This is a running & driving 53 Olds. It has the original 303 Rocket V8 engine with a factory standard shift transmission.

It runs, drives & stops. The battery is good & the generator has been converted to an alternator. The engine starts right up & the clutch & transmission are good & smooth, easy to drive.

The bad part is:

The speedo broke at71,085 miles. True mileage is unknown.

The engine does smoke a little but hits on all 8 cylinders.
There is about 1/8 of a turn of slack in the steering wheel.
Needs a complete interior, seats are there but will need covering.
There is one window garnish missing,off the passenger front door.
There is a crack in the right rear wing window.
There is one small dent in the trunk lid just above the license plate.
Going to need tail light lenses.

There are a lot of good things though like:

No lower end noises like mains or inserts.

New exhaust system already installed

Wide White Walls on all 4 corners.

Some really nice old school pinstriping.

No rust through in the floors, trunk & rocker panels.

Decent driver paint. An older paint job but looks good at 20 feet.

A clear blue Texas Title & the Form 130-U.

It is a project that can be driven while you fix it up.

All lights work including the blinkers.

Gas gauge works!
