Description of 1974 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight |
For sale is a 74 Olds Delta 88 Royal Convertible 2 door. I am the second owner of this car. It is in amazing condition. It runs and drives nicer than my new automobiles. I have all of the original paperwork from the original owner including the sales slip. He even logged everytime he put fuel in the car with the mileage and date. He has every work slip since day one. Even the key chain from the dealer when it was purchased new. Everything works. It has 62. 74 miles. 350 olds rocket motor. auto transmission. power windows. power steering. power brakes. black interior (which is perfect). burgundy top. tan-ish/silver-ish paint. and an 8-track am radio. This car is all original unmolested and needs nothing. I love this classic car and it is a blast to drive. but I am running out of room in the garage and the wife says sell. so. here it is on ebay. Asking $8. 00. To set up a time to come see the car please call 724-seven nine one-1117. Thank You! The car will be sold in as is condition to the first person who brings cash. DO NOT CALL AFTER 8PM EST or BEFORE 8AM EST. UPDATE - I have had a bunch of calls on the car from a bunch of people from far away. so I have added a bunch of pictures and here is the complete story on the car to help those from a distance. I purchased the car on 8-6-13 from the original owner. He did not tell me much about the car. and I did not ask much. I was just happy to get the car. It does not have air conditioning (just put the top down!). I had my mechanic put new fluids. filters. and battery in the car. One of my workers washed. waxed. and cleaned the car. I drove it about 8 times in 2013. and only twice last year (once to get inspected). My mechanic did put a new seal on the front of the convertible top and it needs the final adjustment made (latches have screws to adjust. simple but needs done to stop air from coming in when top is up). He also covered 2 small spots of rust in the trunk where he said the water ran down from the top. he told me that it was from the top and not the bottom so not to worry. no further issues. Also I painted one of the bumperettes on the front bumper with silver paint where the chrome came off. The clock tries to work but does not. and the switch for the top was quirky and I shoved a piece of cardboard under it so it would make better contact. but I would replace it sometime. It has had a repaint or touch up at some point as you can see some sanding marks on the car in some places. The car had 55. 00 miles in 1981. so it has not been driven much since. I am guessing that it has a newer top on it because it is in great condition. but it might be original. I am not sure. I also have no reason to believe that the engine/tranny/etc have been messed with or changed. It is a great example of a car that is in excellent condition for its age (40 years old this year!). I bought it because it basically needs nothing to drive and it is a complete original one owner car with paperwork to go with it. I would drive it to California today without any concern. The new pictures were taken today. and I have not cleaned the car since the first time. so you are seeing dust and all (that is redish paint in the trunk not rust). Hope this answers most questions. I want to be very upfront so I do not waste your time and you do not waste mine. Thank you for your interest. and call with any questions I may have missed. UPDATE - It does not have tilt steering. the tire size is P225/75R15. it has a current PA inspection sticker and registration. it has a 4 barrel carb and single exhaust. |
