Forman Ebay Templates | 1949 OLDSMOBILE CONVERTIBLE1949 OLDSMOBILE CONVERTIBLE303ci "Rocket" V8, Original Crest Blue paint, meticulously maintained in private collection Forman Motorworks is pleased to offer this beautiful 1949 Oldsmobile Futuramic Series 76 Convertible. This classic Olds was originally from Southern California and for the last several years has been part of a collection in Fountain Hills, AZ. The previous owner occasionally enjoyed taking it out on long road trips, which meant the car had to be meticulously maintained and cared for. It wears a high-quality coat of the original (and striking) code 44 Crest Blue paint with matching wheels. The leather interior and canvas top are dark blue with light blue trim & piping. This car was converted to model Series 88 specs during the restoration. This included replacing the original 6-cylinder engine and manual transmission with the famous, and period correct 303ci Rocket V8. It shifts gears through a 4-speed Hydromatic automatic transmission. During the conversion, stylish "88" badges were added to the rear quarter panels. No expense was spared when the paint, interior, chrome, trim, top, tires, & shocks were redone. The engine starts easily, runs strong, and is as smooth as the day it was built. The transmission shifts through all the gears with ease and the brakes operate as they should with no pulling or out-of-adjustment type behavior. With 135 HP, 263 lb-ft of torque, and a relatively small, lightweight body, this car easily cruises with modern traffic. The manually operated top looks fantastic, it's trouble free operation makes it easy to fold down and the matching boot is a snap to install. The top lines up perfectly with the windshield header and latches down with the turn of one crank. The windows also line up and seal extremely well, something you don't often see on convertibles from this era. Oldsmobile built a total of 5338 Series 76 Convertibles and not many of them have survived. This example has everything you could ask for, it's upgraded, trouble free, turn key, and ready to stretch its legs on another long-distance road trip. Options:
