Description of 1969 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Coupe |
The video above is a interview with the original owner, John. His story upon looking into the 98 Models & then placing a order. Up for auction is An original 1969 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe. As mention in the video, he placed the order here in Los Angeles in October of 1968 at Allen Paul Oldsmobile. It was order with mostly all the options and special order with Blue interior. Rare color combination Platinum with Blue interior / Black vinyl. It was supposed to be delivered before Christmas but end up being delivered on Jan 3rd of 1969. From day one, it has always been taken care of. Remained with the original owner for 50 years, amazing. Been garaged most of its life & remained in the same city with its original Black plates, Los Angeles, California. Fully documented paper trial to document the history. He kept the original books from the dealer that he started to "investigate" in September (booklet of models & color option book). The pages he went over in October to place the order with options. Original window sticker, warranty booklet along with protect o plate, paperwork & original pink slip. He installed cruiser control and wiper delay in 1985 with documents. He even mention those are the original dealer floor mats. Original drive train Rocket 455 V8 Turbo Hydra-Matic, owner says the 96k miles to be original. All power options do work and have been tested. Running & driving smooth, starts right up when its cold, doesn't smoke. Solid original California car, including floors & frame. Repainted once in the 80's & the upholstery was redone. Overall, its an original car that can be driven - never been modified. Paint is older and faded in some spots, original headliner is in placed but sewn to be held together. Solid roof with a couple of bubbles. Its never been restored, expect a old original car.
