Description of 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 W-30 Tribute |
As the end of an era, the 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 is not an easy car to take home for an affordable price. So a faithful tribute with serious 455 cubic-inch V8 power like this one is just the ticket for the true muscle car enthusiast. Oldsmobile made less than 700 Cutlass 442 W-30 coupes in 1972, and this was the famous generation's final year in production. So you can instantly understand why having a well-done tribute is both a valuable and far more economical way to go. But you'll love this one for more than just its history. The paint is an upgraded shade similar to GM's Hugger Orange. It gives this performance Olds a deep shine and the right kind of vibrant first impression. And speaking of shine, the bumpers have a great mirror-like appearance thanks to a solid investment here. This is particularly important because 1972 was the last year the bumpers were so form-fitting before federal regulations and a redesign altered with the Cutlass (and this fastback with the rear fender "kick up" is arguably the best-looking Olds ever.) This one has all the right 442 performance touches such as the dual hood stripes, correct badging, and the color-matched large rear spoiler. These themes of brightwork and aggressive orange are unified perfectly on the Super Stock III wheels. The black interior has been given a nice investment in comfort and performance to be pure Oldsmobile. It features nicely pleated button-top seats, thick carpeting, and plenty of wood-like trim. There are even nicely integrated upgrades that range from the auxiliary gauge trio, to the modern AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input and Bluetooth. This is a driver-oriented package that includes front bucket seats, a center console with floor shift, Oldsmobile's four-spoke sports steering wheel, and the bright round gauge package that includes the desirable tic-toc-tach. Under the hood is one of the best features. It's the mighty 455 cubic-inch V8. This fantastically done package means you get a bright blue block radiating from within the dark engine bay. And as proper W-30 tribute, it also includes upgrades, like the lightweight fiberglass hood and the correct air intake on the motor that takes advantage of the ram air hood scoops. There are more upgraded pieces for ideal performance, like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and an aluminum radiator to help keep the package running cool. But more than just a big power machine, this Olds still serves its dual luxury and performance nature well. After all, features like the power steering, a three-speed automatic transmission, thick sway bars front & rear, and power brakes with discs up front are good ingredients for an all-day cruise on your favorite roads. This sleek cutlass coupe has been restored to be an awesome big V8 442 tribute in ultra-rare W-30 form. It's a total package for power and poise you're going to love. Call today!!! |
