Description of 1957 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight |
1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday 2 door Hardtop "The Best There Is!" Survivor Now that is a powerful statement to make about an automobile. Is it fair to say when there could be one "better" hiding out somewhere that hasn't shown itself? We will let you decide when you see it in person. If you search out "The Best", the "One of One", the "Only Original Once" collectiblevehiclefor your personal enjoyment or collection, you should be paying attention to this one. It is presented as a 63-year-old vehicle with all original factory paint, all original factory interior, and all original factory chrome. The original low mileage of just 62,900 miles is remarkable. Take a look under the hood and you see "original". Yes, of course, it has had proper maintenance to replace hoses, belts, brakes, fluids and tires (original spare!) over the years. It has always been properly stored and cared for so even the undercarriage is "untouched original". You may never own a collectible automobile that gets more attention and appreciation for its distinctive appeal and honest originality. Recent shows include the time-honored Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance April 13 2019 winning the "Peoples Choice Award" for "Original Survivor" and the Lake Mirror Concours in Sun City FL In case you didn't notice (heh), the color combination is quite stunning. It is Royal Glow with Alcan White. It has a more conservative interior in the three-tone White and Gray "leather"/Vinyl with Cloth seating areas. Special notations include the perfect condition of the steering wheel, horn ring and dash pad; everything works including the dash "Cold Light" upon startup, all stainless and chrome is beautiful and original, the doors close "like a safe", under the hood, is all of the original paint and factory stickers/decals, the exhaust tips are routed below the bumper intentionally to preserve the original outlets in the bumper, the jack instructions are still preserved on the trunk lid with the original spare tire and jack, the factory original fender skirts (in primer) are included (in the attic for 50 years), it has the factory T-3 headlights and the original factory glovebox book, owners manual and several additional original manuals are included (please see in pictures). It is powered by the powerful "new" (for '57) "T-400", 400 Torque, 371 cubic inch, 277 horsepower 4bbl engine with the Turbo Hydramatic 4 speed transmission. Options include
