Description of 1948 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 4 Door

1948OldsmobileNinety-Eight

I will be listing a few cars here in the next week or two for my family. We are reducing are number of cars, so please see my other listings as well. I am not a dealer.

"Futuramic is a brand new word that fills a gap in our vocabulary"

Here we have a beautiful 1948 Oldsmobile that has been restored a few years back and lovingly cared for. This would be a very nice car for all your cruise night events, local car shows, or just own/drive for fun. The first of the 'Futuramic' design and there are not many of these left!

Details/Features:

  • 257ci 8 cylinder engine (with high compression head)
  • Hydra-Matic Transmission (4 speed automatic)
  • Sun Visor
  • Deluxe Trim Package
  • Rear Seat Arm Rests
  • Wide White Wall Tires
  • Fender Skirts
  • Detailed engine and trunk compartments
  • Recent tune up, check up, service

The engine starts easy, runs smooth, and makes good power. The transmission shifts and operates well at all speeds. All working lights and gauges, however, the speedometer was recently disconnected because the needle was bouncy.Overall, the car runs and drives excellent as a whole (and is quite easy to drive). Very smooth ride, no vibrations, rattles, leaks, issues. Engine and transmission were both rebuilt when the car was restored. This is a reliable Oldsmobile to drive!

The car looks about as close to a NEW 1948 Oldsmobile as I've ever seen. The exterior paint is very nice with no major flaws (very slick). Outstanding chrome and stainless, which was nearly all re-chromed/restored at a great expense. The interior is also quite nice and has been restored. Engine bay and trunk are both nice and tidy. The doors, hood, trunk all open and close with ease and all body panels line up perfectly. Underneath the car looks good and solid as you would expect from a car this nice. Overall, the car presents itself well enough to win a trophy at most of the car shows you attend. A restored version of this car is VERY hard to find! If you want one like this, get it now while it's still available. And check out that split back window!

Please see the photos and ask whatever questions you might have.

I reserve the right to end the listing early at any time for the right offer. The car could be for sale locally as well.
