Vehicle Details This is a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible supreme. It has its numbers matching 350 4 barrel high compression engine. The previous owner told me the engine had been rebuilt during the original restoration because it does not smoke at all even upon start up… I have no reason to doubt that. It sounds like it has a small RV cam in it. The original restoration seems to be of a high quality because of the color change. You cannot tell that the vehicle was originally gold. Everywhere you look door jams under trunk everywhere was redone in the red It is now . The 1970 cutlass supreme convertibles have the lowest production figures. They are also the most desirable year . And 71 and 72 production figures, doubled and tripled . That being said, this car is very rare, and the most desirable of the 70 to 72 body style. Of the 4867 cars produced how many do you think are actually left . And also how many do you think retain their original engines. Having the original numbers matching engine, which is a four barrel high compression engine will always be more valuable than a non-numbers matching car and retain its value. The majority of the cutlass convertibles had the low compression 2 barrel Engine and we’re non-air-conditioned cars with drum brakes . This is a highly optioned cutlass supreme with all the the best options. The car was sitting for 10 years most of the time was under a carport. The car needs a full restoration. But it is running and driving and has working brakes. It has a new battery and battery cables. It also has a new solid-state voltage regulator. The power brakes are working, and the booster and master cylinder are new. The carburetor was rebuilt. It has a new fuel pump and a new fuel sending unit so the gas gauge does work and new rubber fuel lines. New valve cover gaskets, PCV valve and breather. The ignition has a new coil and points and condenser distributor cap and rotor by AC Delco. A new heavy duty fan clutch has been installed. Radiator was flushed a new 180 degree thermostat also new upper and lower radiator hoses and coolant. The oil is Lucas hot rod hi zinc with a KN oil filter. The engine seems to run fine, but does have exhaust manifold leaks needs new gaskets. The car doesn’t seem to be leaking. There’s no evidence on my driveway. The car has the usual convertible rust spots in the trunk and will need a new trunk pan. You can get those for $300 from suppliers. There’s some rust at the bottom of the front windshield as seen in the pictures. The rockers are very solid in and out with only minor patching needed on the outside as seen in pictures. The floor pans are solid with only patching needed. The cowl is also very solid. The car had new quarter panels on both sides installed on the original restoration which are still very nice and done very well. The quarter panels will need patching on the very bottom of the rear. This car has never been in an accident. All the door gaps are very nice. Car is very straight if you look down the sides of it. Underneath the doors are very solid and the door jam areas also. Underneath the trunk is very nice. It looks like there’s rust under the back lip near the latch and along the edge but that’s only dirt. I don’t know why it looks like that in the pictures. Underneath the hood is also very nice. The car has rare factory air conditioning and all the components are there it’s not working though. All the lights and flashers are working except it needs one headlight I noticed. The high and low beam switch is working. The windshield wipers are working. The horn also works. The convertible top mechanism is in excellent condition with no repairs cracks or welds and the front header is not rusted. This car was originally the very rare color combo of gold exterior with gold top and saddle interior. When it was restored 20 years ago it had a full color change and interior change. I found the build sheet under the passenger side front carpet under the sound deadening. It is still stuck to the sound deadening. I don’t want to disturb it. It’s in a box and goes to the new owner. The tires are old and should be replaced. The car should be towed and not driven home by the new owner for safety reasons, the car has been off the road for sometime. It does drive and the transmission is working with no leaks. I am excepting only cash for local pickup and I will also need a positive feedback left for me before the car leaves or I cannot release it.. also, the eBay pick up code I will need so have your Ebay account available on your phone so you can leave me a positive feedback.
