Here we have a 1979 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Sedan. She might not be much to look at, but she has it where it counts. The engine and transmission are in excellent shape. Brakes, tires, and heat are also good. The car starts, runs, and drives just fine. Has a 6.6L 403 Olds-built V8, 4-BBL Qjet carb, and a THM-350 automatic transmission. Started her life in Texas, then Wyoming (where I bought her in 2007 as a runabout), and now in Colorado (North Denver Area). Have a video of the engine purring but I can't upload it on eBay.The rest of the car, well... You can see from the photos. Boasts a two-tone paint job (Rust Red and Bondo Beige :-P). In actuality, I've heard the color of the car described as "Urinë Yellow" (that was sort'f a 1970's thing). The velour interior used to be Gold before the sun bleached it. Windshield is so cracked you can barely see out of it to drive due to the age and stress from our climate here in Colorado. Rear doors won't open for some reason. The catalytic converter is old and losing effectiveness- so this car might not pass emissions if that is a requirement where you will register it.The A/C needs a complete flush and a new compressor, as I blew it to heII trying to convert it from R-12 to R-134a refrigerant. The AM/FM 8-Track tape player (so 70's) actually does work! So, if you have a secret stash of disco 8-tracks, you can jam to them. Power seats work. The power windows work. Power locks do sometimes. Wipers work sometimes. Washer does not - needs a new pump. The cruise control does not work. All the lights work, if you can believe it!If you are looking for a cheap daily driver, this might not be the car for you. Although in great mechanical condition she gets 17 MPG on average. As previously stated, the car needs some TLC before it can be driven legally. You will need to replace the windshield, wiper/washer motor, and a steering drag link has some slop and will need replaced soon. This car should probably go to a buyer who needs a good engine and/or tranny for their '77-'79 Firebird or Camero - this is the largest stock engine you could get from GM for those cars in those years. I left everything stock on the engine and driveline. Engine is original and has 85k miles on it. As stated, runs very well.I am asking $1800 (No - I did NOT forget to add the decimal point. ;-P) but am willing to consider serious offers - CASH ONLY! The junkyard offered me $1800 just for the scrap metal value alone; however, I'd rather this car go to someone who might need the parts. I am a private seller and therefore cannot ship it to you. You will need to come pick it up however you wish. The car and I are located about 30 minutes north of Denver, CO. Please contact me with any questions.
