Description of 1940 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser

This 1940 Oldsmobile Series 60 Convertible was given a frame off, back to the metal rebuild about 25 years ago. It has no rust or accidents. The car was 95% finished but sat in his garage for undriven for 25 years (I mean ZERO miles). It’s present condition is physically excellent but it needs completely going through again to make it drivable. There is nothing major needs doing, just the sort of stuff that you’d expect for a car that hasn’t been used in a long long time. It has the 230 Flathead-6 that ran great and was overhauled (25 years ago) and the 3-Speed manual Transmission. This car was locally bought and owned in Hollywood, Ca... Before it was restored this car had at least five years worth of 1950's 'Hollywood Parade" stickers on the windshield and I was told Marilyn Monroe rode in the back of it at some point (no proof of that unfortunately!).This is a rare and historical car. Not only did Oldsmobile not make many convertibles, this was the only year with the ‘half-in/half-out of the fender headlight style, and it was produced just as America entered WW2… I have lots of parts for it that are not shown in the pictures. Wheel trim rings, hub caps, hood frame & bow, assorted original hardware etc.The only convertible examples of these I have seen sold for between $50-60K (in excellent restored condition)… Although it’s incredibly beautiful, it is not my sort of car, and although I am very tempted to resto-mod it with uprated drivetrain and suspension etc, I just don’t have the time to devote any more so I’m going to sell it. I have a clean title in my name. If you are interested feel free to ask questions, but really it needs to be seen in person.
