Description of 1973 Opel GT COUPE

FOR SALE - 1973 OPEL GT COUPE. FEATURES A 1.9 LITER 4 CYLINDER ENGINE, 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
THE CAR IS OVERALL VERY CLEAN BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. THE INTERIOR IS EXCEPTIONAL, WITH DOOR PANELS BEING IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, CARPET EXCELLENT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE SMALL "WEAR THROUGH" AREA ON DRIVERS SIDE. HEADLINER IS VERY NICE, WITH ONLY TWO SMALL HOLES, APPROX. 1" IN DIAMETER EACH. BOTH HOLES WOULD BE A VERY EASY FIX FOR ANY INTERIOR REPAIR GUY (ASK ANY LOCAL NEW CAR DEALER WHO REPAIRS THEIR CIGARETTE BURN HOLES ECT). BOTH SEATS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITI0N, THE PASSENGERS SEAT HAS A SMALL SCUFF APPROX. 4" LONG. BEHIND THE SEAT AREA IS VERY NICE AS WELL. THE DASH IS NICE ON THE FACE, BUT HAS CRACKS ON THE TOP IN SEVERAL AREAS. THERE IS A DASH COVER THAT HIDES THE CRACKS COMPLETELY, AND LOOKS VERY NICE. THE FACE OF THE DASH, AND ALL OF THE GAUGES ARE VERY, VERY NICE AS IS THE CONSOLE WHICH HOUSES THE SHIFTER AND EMERGENCY BRAKE HANDLE. THE WOOD GRAIN STEERING WHEEL OVERALL VERY NICE, BUT HAS CRACKS AROUND THE SPOKES. ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT PAINT AND BODY, BUT, INTERIORS ARE MOST OFTEN THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING PART OF DOING A CAR.
ENGINE RUNS VERY WELL, WITH NO CLATTER OR SMOKE. IT LOOKS LIKE THE CARBURATOR HAS BEEN REBUILT AND ALSO THE VALVE COVER GASKET APPEARS TO BE NEWER AS WELL. ENGINE BAY IS VERY CLEAN, AND INTACT. ALL WIRES,CABLES, HOSES AND SUCH SEEM TO BE IN THE PROPER LOCATION.
THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES SMOOTHLY, AND SHIFTS THROUGH ALL OF THE GEARS SMOOTHLY AS WELL. CLUTCH SEEMS TO HAVE GOOD PRESSURE AND HAS THE CORRECT TRAVEL.
TIRES ARE APPROX. 50% TREAD LEFT. BRAKES WORK VERY WELL WITH NO SQUEEKING OR SQUEELING. REAR SHOCKS LOOK TO BE NEAR NEW. EXAUST IS SOUND, WITH NO LEAKS NOTICEABLE. WHEELS ARE VERY CLEAN, BUT THE CENTER CAPS ARE MISSING. I AM SURE THAT THEY COULD BE FOUND OR REMANUFACTURED BY SOMEONE ABLE TO CUT ALUMINUM.
ALL OF THE GLASS IS EXTREMELY CLEAN FOR A CAR OF THIS VINTAGE, WITH NO CRACKS OR SCRATCHES NOTICEABLE ANYWHERE.
ALL OF THE GAUGES APPEAR TO BE OPERATING PROPERLY. THE OIL PRESSURE SHOWS APPROX. 25 LBS AT IDLE AND 40 LBS GOING DOWN THE ROAD.
THE ULTRA COOL FLIP AROUND HEADLIGHTS WORK PROPERLY AS DESIGNED.
THE BODY OF THE CAR APPEARS TO BE VERY STRAIGHT. THE PAINT LOOKS TO BE AN AMATUER PAINT JOB. THERE ARE MANY BUBBLES AND BLISTERS ON THE CAR, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE WHEEL OPENING AREAS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS UNDER THE BUBBLES, IF IT IS RUST, OR JUST POOR PREPERATION BEFORE PAINTING. THE BELLY OF THE CAR APPEARS TO BE ROCK SOLID, AND ALL LINES, CABLES AND SUCH IN THE RIGHT PLACE THERE.
I AM SELLING THIS VEHICLE FOR A FRIEND WHO BOUGHT IT AT A STORAGE SALE, AND SO I DON'T HAVE ALOT OF HISTORY ON THE CAR. THE 25,000 MILES SHOWING ON THE ODOMETER IS PURPORTELY ORIGINAL MILES. I DROVE THE CAR APPROX. 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD JUST TO CHECK IT OUT, AND IT SEEMED TO DRIVE VERY WELL. THERE IS A BUMPING NOISE FROM WHAT I THINK IS EXHAUST HITTING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. IT LOOKS LIKE THE RUBBER HANGARS FOR THE EXHAUST COULD BE REPLACED.
THERE IS A CLEAN TITLE IN HAND FOR THE VEHICLE. TITLE WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE NEW OWNER BY CERTIFIED MAIL ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PAID FOR IN FULL.
THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD ON A 7 DAY NO RESERVE AUCTION. A $500 PAYPAL DEPOSIT WILL BE DUE AT AUCTIONS END, BALANCE DUE WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS BY BANK WIRE TRANSFER OR CASH IN PERSON.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT BIDS BY LOW, NO, OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BIDDERS. I ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD "AS-IS", WITH NO WARRANTY. INSPECTIONS IN PERSON ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED. YOU MAY EMAIL ME OR CALL ME AT 320-260-0502 WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. I WILL RETURN WITH AN ANSWER ASAP. PLEASE DO NOT SEND AN EMAIL WITH ONLY 2 MINUTES REMAINING IN THE AUCTION AND EXPECT A RESPONSE. IF YOU NEED A FAST ANSWER, CALL MY PHONE PLEASE.
YOU CAN SEE BY MY TIME ON EBAY AND MY 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK THAT I AM AN HONEST SELLER. I TRY TO DESCRIBE VEHICLES COMPLETLY AND TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.
I WILL ASSIST THE BUYER IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE INSOFAR AS SHIPPING OR TRANSPORTATION. I HAVE BEEN SELLING CARS FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS NOW, AND HAVE ALOT OF CONTACTS IN THE SHIPPING BUSINESS.
IN SUMMARY, I THINK THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE CAR THAT COULD BE A REAL STUNNER WITH VERY LITTLE WORK. THE PAINT AND BODY IS RESPECTABLE, BUT, I THINK THAT THERE MAY BE SOME RUST ISSUES UNDER THE PAINT. THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR LOOKS TO BE VERY SOLID, SO I DON'T THINK IT IS ANYTHING SEVERE.
THANKS FOR LOOKING, BID AWAY!!!
