1986 OPEL "Rekord Sport" 4 door performance sport sedan, a limited edition of only 500 built by the Opel tuning company "Irmscher" - German VIN: WOL000016F1253397 - "Irmscher" is the in-house tuning company for Opel, "Irmscher" is for Opel what AMG is for Mercedes Benz! The modifications by "Irmscher" to the standard Opel Rekord "GL" model are: 1. increase engine capacity from 2 Liters to 2,2 Liters, engine paired with mechanical fuel injection, power output 130 HP, total weight of car: 1165 kg (~2600 lbs.) 2. 5 speed manual transmission, top speed: 120 MPH 3. lowered suspension and increased track width - suspension specifications: rear - live axle, trailing arms with "Monroe" gas shocks and separate coil springs, drum brakes front - independent front set-up with disk brakes 4. tuned exhaust system with exhaust headers, 2" exhaust piping and 3" chrome end pipe 5. "Ronal" aluminum wheels made for "Irmscher" in the size of 6 X 15 with the optional tire size of 205/60 X 15 6. front and rear spoilers and aero all around package 7. 4 spoke leather steering wheel 15" diameter with "Irmscher" imprint 8. "Recaro" sports bucket seats in front upholstered in tweed fabric 9. full instrumentation including tachometer, oil-pressure and voltmeter 10. this car has also a specially ordered dark tinted and opening glass sun-roof by "Augros" installed The color of this car is dark-gray metallic with dark-gray and black interior. This car is all original. It was never fully repainted or in an accident. The interior is all original and in very good condition. Even the high side bolstered Recaro bucket seats show no wear. This car has a total mileage of only 151500 km (92500 miles. The car was fully inspected last Spring. It received new fuel and water hoses, a new battery, new spark plug wires and a new set of 205/60X15 performance tires. Import into the US in Sept. 2012. Clear Michigan title. I had the car shipped from Germany to Halifax in Canada and drove it almost 2000 miles back to our home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was fun and the car performed flawlessly!
